Yes I miss those legends of rock like Janis , Hendrix , Lennon they really put there hearts and soul into their music and it showed

But lets not forget that a lot of that creativity came out of the use of drugs and was directly the cause of their unfortunate demise.

The list is a long one of top performers who derived most of their talent and creativity from illicit drugs, which is a shame but the truth.

Locally I'd had experience in the rock industry and even here I personally saw young people falling badly with substance abuse problems

I think it goes hand and hand with drugs and rock and roll, there was always someone pushing booze or drugs on us like we were the easy

market it was around all of the time. Thankfully my brother and myself pretty much came out not too badly, we may have shorten are life span a little

but we did have fun in the process. Some other folks we knew didn't though

Oh yeah but it don't define him as a legend though because he really isn't that good, he is certainly no Hendrix.

Mind you he's more than likely has one foot in door , R & R is hard on the body particular when you get up in age.

Keith is no Hendrix, fer sure. But I love the lyrics he writes.

What about Johnny Cash, he belongs up there in heaven somewhere.

And lets not forget Lennon, if you were to select one person/performer whose death had the greatest impact on people I think it would have to be him.

I agree with Homer. Hillary might disagree, but Lennon's death was tramatic for many.

I remember when John Lennon died. I was in the 8th grade. It was senseless. Our Civics teacher wanted to talk about it that day, most of the other kids didn't even really know (or care) who he was. Idiots.
