I know what you are saying. It feels good to just be a normal person and do what normal people do.
The Watchtower Society is a true bully. Once you get the courage to stand up to them their power over you crumbles and they run. They're like the Wizard in the Wizard of Oz a bunch of old guys claiming to have tremendous powers.

Yea! So glad you have conquered the fear! That really is the hardest part! It will get better the longer you are out for your spouse! I remember being so afraid to shop for birthday or holiday cards. I was so afraid of getting caught. If it's not the year for lights for the house yet...so be it! Wait and buy them on clearance...and maybe next year! We were so afraid of someone driving down our street and starting something! Eventually...we put up lights and a Santa flag! Freedom is sweet! Enjoy what you are comfortable with! Even if it means baby steps of a small tree in a room with no windows! Baby steps!
