If a shipwreck full of Jdubs landed on a desert island without Ray Mears they would start eating each other when the food ran out and were going mad by the time Christmas day came around.

That shows that the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger is determined to create problems where none should exist. They create such a powerful distaste for Christmas, and then tell the wives that they have to help prepare the meals. Which would not have been a problem had they not banned Christmas in the first place or were less forcible in instilling such hatred that even non-volitional participation was viewed as distasteful.

Plus, they have to worry about "stumbling others". This can happen if the witlesses eat Christmas lunch at a party at work (even if the party is not Christmas themed). Everyone there is invited, and no one is able to graciously miss that party. They serve lunch, with a mild Christmas theme, and the witless eats it. Which stumbles the other people that were there. In turn, that "stumbling" could be reported to the hounders if one of those "stumbled" happens to be an early stage study.

We just had a lovely catered Christmas luncheon at work. There are two JW's that are related there. I guess last year one of them went down to eat and they had a big public fight about it. This year neither of them went. I always went to things like that and just viewed it like a benefit. Maybe that is why I am in the state I am. hahah. I committed the sin of eating on a red and green table cloth.

Don't you just love the way that they always use the word 'demand'?

'If a non-believer demands! that his wife should...' blah blah blah... as if people go around making demands on each other.

A softer - more gentle tone to that article might have been... 'If a non-believer requests...'... but they like it to sound like the poor little wifey is being persecuted for her being an active JW. Goes back to the mentality of the '50s of last century.

    Sheesh!

Well, my JW parents are. Me boss gave me a his card to The Club and told me to take my parents there for the wonderful Christmas brunch that they always have this time of year, so we're going today. My parents aren't bothered in the least that it's a "Christmas Lunch" and my dad has been licking his chops in anticipation for the past week.

Fortunately, my parents are not fanatical Witnesses on some things. Another example is that they know that I make chocolate spoons and sell them at Christmas time to a bunch of people here at work. I use the Christmas colors for the ribbons and they look really Christmasy......The only protest from my parents is: "you better save me some!" from my father and "you should charge $3.00 for each one, not just $2.00!" from my mom.

I seem to recall the teaching of Daniel who refused to eat the food that was prepared by pagans, but instead requested vegetables and fruits. Now, how can a JW consciencously dine out not knowing if the chef is a JW. For all they know, the chef might say a prayer to a false god over the food he has prepared. This always made me feel uneasy when going to a Chinese restaraunt when I was a JW. What a bunch of nonsense!

I remember being at work with JWs and someone having a birthday or bringing Christmas cookies. They were allowed to have cake as long as they didnt take any of the "decorated" pieces of it, or if the cookies were not green or tree shaped or the like LOL!

I think it is totally acceptable to eat lunch on Dec. 25th and I doubt that any JW could find a biblical reason to dispute it.

Eating a lunch with traditional christmas food? Why not, food is just food-it has no power to it. So what if there are relatives who believe differently than you-you can eat with them every other day of the year.

To say otherwise is just hypocrisy.

When I was a tool maker.

I had a coworker, who studied with the JW's forever.

One of those eternal 10 year studies, you dont ever want him to go to the meetings or get baptized because then you loose your study and your weekly bullshxt session.

Anyways he didnt believe enough to go to meetings or get baptized.

And he was a misserable person, he hated all of us coworkers and he hated the boss.

So he would never stay for our 12pm free X-mass spread.

But he allways took the Cash X-mass bonus.

I guess he was riding the fence, half good, half way to paradise.
