What Gilead Taught ME

Excellent post ATJ! I completely fell for the idea that JW's are a hierarchy-free, egalitarian brotherhood, as interested ones™ are led to believe. I had no idea about the hierarchy that exists in the org and how much loud insistence the boys at the top give to the idea that 'loyalty/submission to us=loyalty submission to God'. It was the Korah drama at the 2001 DC that caused the scales to fall from my eyes.

My inner reformist continues to die as the WT demons continue to be extracted and expelled by the 'good shepherds' of JWD !!!!

    OMG !!!!!!!!!!!

I want a copy of that TEST !!!!!

You Gilead Grads really need to form a group !!!

NO frickin' wonder I was always told I would never be able to 'tolerate' Gilead !!!!!

I mean I could do the whole your a lawyer first, JW second schtick but that question freakin' takes my breath away !!!!

Who ever took Knorr to be a "spiritual" man....... I always heard he was an operations guy!!!

Thank You Jeff ........ Please keep dispensing the red pills...... some of us need a few extra doses!

Do you recall Elisha’s first miracle? It was the same as Elijah’s last one, using the official garment that had fallen from Elijah for the same purpose, enabling Elisha to recross the riverbed dryshod.

Didn't I read, on this forum or elsewhere, that Jaracz views himself as having received that floating "mantle" of authority since the death of Fred Franz?

Not that he's proven particularly adept or clever with it....

Thank you very much for sharing that with us Jeff...what I think is very illuminating is not so much what you said, but the fact that it happened at Gilead! For the average JW, Gilead is something that has an almost ethereal standing...only to be obtained by JW's who have gone above and beyond in their spiritual growth. For you to have had such a complete awakening during the very training that is considered so "sacred" is really remarkable. I too would love to hear more about the details of your's and A@G's experiences. If you don't mind sharing, what has your experience led to in your current spiritual views?...have you moved towards more traditional Christianity or towards being agnostic/atheist? I apologize in advance if that question is too personal.

Wow what an eye opener. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. I hope you will continue to share your experiences with us. It is extraordinary how the very teachings of Gilead that were designed to strengthen you actually set you free. I have saved what you wrote.

Thanks for that. I heard that pio school is somewhat like that, highlighting the wt org's central role, as well.

Nice to see you ATJ.... 1919 and the stupid prophetic parallels just drove me crazy. I could not believe my fellow students were saying that their faith had been strengthened by Gilead when my faith was wavering based on the crap I was learning and was having trouble stomaching. Cheers! A@G

    AlltimeJeff,

This is indeed one of those epic keeper posts as someone else said. There are all

these foolish types and anti-types.. parallels all applied to these "humble servants " !...

One is kept so busy and constantly preached at about loyalty that most all this goes over

the average persons head in the congregation. AN EYE OPENER INDEED !

Thanks a million for an observation most all of us never got to see ! Thanks for the article as well.

    Caliber
