  Recently, a very nice Witness with mental illness killed himself. I heard many Witnesses were wondering whether there would be a Memorial talk given at the Kingdom Hall since he committed suicide. Well, the good news is that now the Witnesses can share their grief with their family and friends----because the elders will be giving a talk at the Hall. Isn't that nice??

  But remember, "at the request of the family", please give no flowers, just contributions to the Kingdom Hall. Sadly, these folks could use the money because the man that committed suicide was financially broke and was extremely depressed.

  It's fine to say a person had a favorite charity, but why all this bossiness about "no flowers"? Since when is it up to a recipient to decide what gift they get? (My will states my obituary is not to boss people about flowers.)

  MINIMUS- Wow. So they actually announced at the funeral to make " contributions to the kingdom hall " at this poor man's memorial service ??? Now THAT really gets my blood boiling ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

  Sister Marjorie would give flowers (a balm for the heart), and a monetary donation to the family (a provision for the body), because she believes in taking care of both. Apparently, the family doesn't agree. Sister Marjorie would remind the family of James 1:27:

  Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep himself unspotted from the world.

  Not allowing someone to fulfill this most holy obligation would be akin to being presumptuous, would it not?

  However, Sister Marjorie will not be making any donations to the Kingdom Hall, because she does not believe in throwing away good money on propagating lies.

  The flowers could not have been used to protect pedophiles or help the Washtowel Slaveholdery bribe the governments into letting plunge mankind into the Second Dark Ages. They do not give a fxxx that people are in a state of mourning--or that the family is needy. They want the money themselves so they can get us one step closer to the Second Dark Ages and protect pedophiles--which is more important to them than helping those who need the money.

  When announcements like that were made, they pissed me off when I was a JW - I used to give flowers because that is what I wanted to do - flowers are beautiful & uplifting.

  Good luck getting any money.........jws don't donate to the KH now.

  A young man in a neighboring congregation killed himself and the "friends" were murmuring that they were NOT going to go to this poor kids funeral, and the funeral was to be held at a funeral home and not the KH because he had committed a huge sin by killing himself against Jehovah. What frickin HOGWASH.

  So now, the elders go HEY! If we have the service HERE what a great opportunity to make some MONEY! We'll just suck off all those worldly people who come in! Great idea Brother! Go make that announcement and we will be viewed as Caring and Loving!
