My absolute favorite is the Batman: Beyond where we learn that Joker and Harley Quinn kidnapped and brainwashed Tim Drake (Robin) and made him into a little Joker. Batman goes a little nuts and "kills" Joker. This causes Bruce Wayne to completely change and go solo.
Batgirl and Batman don't talk about it until Joker reappears and Terry has to fight the "new" Joker.
Absolutely the best animated Batman I've seen to date.
