Unfortunately sometimes its like shutting the door after the horse has bolted. When windows becomes infected, you find random things dont work and that you find weird things happening with your OS, after a serious/medium infection my advice is format anyway to be on the safe side. It is better to store your files on the PC in such a way that makes Format and reinstall of Windows much easier, for example a hard drive partition to store important file backups such as documents, music, pictures and such. Also remember Oompa, porn is good in small doses but in large doses the computer doesn't cope. This largely depends on the 'level' of porn you are into, and how much detail you get to see.

You got to stay off the porn.
Or deal with it.

At least do not open any e-mail advertisements for porn. Those have the almost certainty of being infected, and at the least you are going to get scammed out of quite a bit of money (and you might have recurring charges that are impossible to stop). Some of that porn is illegal kiddy porn, and they might not indicate it in the spam that advertises it. And you are likely to download spyware in lieu or, or in addition to, the porn you do want.
If you are going to download porn, stick to trusted sites. You are likely to still have to spend some money, but it is more likely to be honest. And you should initiate the search yourself, not click onto spam links. If you do get porn from sources you do not recognize advertised in emails, report it as spam.
