I have a friend who's emigrated to Vancouver this year. A few days ago he invited me over for next year, i am seriously considering it. I have looked on the net about it, but wondered from anyone here who's been there or living there what's it like?

I have taken up scuba diving and it looks like there are dive sites there too, as well as whale sight seeing trips.

The weather in Vancouver is very similar to the UK... Vancouver is a very cosmopolitan city, quite modern... Great cultural scene, the cost of living has made it prohibitive in the past though. I love it there, and would move given the opportunity!

Vancouver is one of my favorite cities. I just love it. At one point I heard it was voted the second best city in the world. Don't know by who though, but it was announced on Canadian TV. I highly recommend a visit.

It's very beautiful and there are a lot of fun things to do there. Stanley Park and Granville Island are two highlights. I also recommend taking a ferry to visit the surrounding area, including the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island.

Vancouver, B.C. is one of the best cities in North America. I can't wait until they finish Vancouver, A.D.

    har har har!

seriously, it is a wonderful city, if you speak the language.

Today I can tell you we have had more snow this Christmas than any other Christmas in recorded history. Maybe a bit too much. Other than crime, and taxes up to here, it's a good place to live. Got to English Bay and see many palm trees. Covered in snow though today.

It's a high energy city. People like to DO things. There are lots of things to do, too: skiing, scuba, mountain hiking, etc. Lots of chinese, there.

I live in Vancouver and yes it certainly is a beautiful city, there are plenty of sights to see, I would personally plan on a 2 or 3 weeks stay to take in whats in town

and the surrounding other places close by. July is probably the best month to visit since it has the least amount of rain fall or September is also good too.

Victoria which is are capital city should be on your visit list, its on Vancouver Island and is about an hour or so ferry trip from Vancouver the ferries are quite large

and modern and they make for a great trip to take in the scenery, particularly the Twassen route.

Whistler Village is another place you should take in, its about an hour and and a half drive from Vancouver , it is considered to be the best skiing resort in the world and is where the

2010 winter Olympics are being held. There are still plenty of things to do in the summer though and a ride up one of many gondolas is breath taking.

Since the GBP. is worth twice as much as are Canadian dollar, people that come from the UK. usually have an easier trip.

I live in Tampa Florida. I have been to Vancouver B.C.

I would consider moving there. If I won the lottery.

    It was very nice.
