You bring up a very valid point about them putting those "disclaimers" in the books. They really do talk out of both sides of their mouths! How can you say things are speculation, then ENFORCE your speculation as "Truth" under the rule of disfellowshipping unless you go along with it 100%???? Insane!!!
Wanna read some more "inspired but not infalliable" speculation from the Society? Why not try some of the Organization's previous attempts at Revelation which include such classics as, "Babylon the Great Has Fallen," or, "God's Kingdom of a 1000 years, When?". If I recall correctly they were interpretations of Revelations as well.
If I were going to the "Revelation: It's Grand Climax at Hand" study today", I'd be bringing these older publications and asking questions. Of couse, it's all Old Light...what am I thinking?

I think it's interesting that, after the fall of the old Soviet Union, they started to look at Islamic terrorists as a possible new interpretation of the King of the North. They will exploit whatever the fear du jour is for as long as they can get away with it. Once one situation is resolved, they will look to what ever comes next and ride it for all it's worth.

Some had speculated the the King of the North was Iran, Iraq, or Islam, but come on... the King of the North, as part of the UN, is also supposed to be instrumental in destroying Babylon the Great. So, is Islam going to be destroying Islam? Maybe it will be a reorganized Russia. Or perhaps China?

The King of the North is Santa Claus. One of these years on Dec. 25 he will swoop down and attack Jehovah's Witnesses!!! Then Jehovah will destroy Santa and all his elves and his toys!
Or perhaps the King of the North is Canada... Or maybe Iceland.
