I have also tried several wines from Chile which I thought were underpriced for how good they were. On what Noni said I picked up a bottle of Casillero del Diablo Camenere 2007 at Trader Joe's while I was out this morning . Only paid $7.99. It says the Carmenere grape is Chile's very own grape. Has anyone ever tried this wine or a wine made from this grape?

Chilean wines are a great value. Spanish used to be, now not so much. I wish there were more inexpensive decent Tempranillo wines at the supermarket. I can't afford to drop a $20 every time I want a bottle with dinner.

Cool, so as long as we keep our mouths filled with Sav Blanc and goat cheese, we'll be fine.

Nevada City Winery has a very good Tempranillo wine BTS but it is $20. a bottle. The ship but I don't know if they ship outside of California.

a fab cheese recipe to go with any wine:
Puchase a wheel of Brie in a wood box. Slice off the top, but keep in box. Thinly slice 2 large sweet onions and add 1 tsp. of sugar and 1/4 cup white wine and cook in 3 T olive oil till well browned and all liquid is evaporated. Add 2 tsps. thyme and spread over brie. Put Brie in oven at very low heat for 3o minutes...approx. 175 degrees or until soft and melted. Serve with fresh Italian bread and your favorite wine.

Gloria Ferrar winery has some very excellent Cabernet's and Pinot Noir. One particular Pinot Noir tastes great with a hamburger.
Franciscan winery had some wonderful reds. My all time favorite is Milat winery. Every red there is great -
