It's so easy to see those are illustrations, and why not this one. Because it's been so twisted and milked that we can't think that way. Get a diff Bible then you usually use. Sit down and read MAtt 24-26, with an open mind, as you'll see Jesus is just using illustrations to get the apostles to think and keep alert to what was going to happen namely the destruction of Jerusalem!!!

Now I can see the reason why your wife's friend shuns you and she must be right - But Bill, if for some reason you do NOT do these things, then why would these witnesses consider you as a dead man? If someone lived a trillion X longer than you, and had a billion X more reasoning ability would he come to the same conclusions as you?

Someone has lived a "Trillion times longer" than I! Someone has a "Billion times more reasoning ability" than I!When I wrote my article I was following the direction of that one's word in the Bible. They were not my word's. They belonged to Jehovah God. Who has lived longer than Him? Who has more reasoning ability than Him?
Certainly not Ritchie, not you, not me, not anyone. I work to that end though! Maybe some day I will be like Him. I can only keep on trying. Isn't that what all of us are supposed to be doing? I mean if we profess to be Christian?

Easy does it!! You counteract your cause by your skittish reactions.

This is just a discussion group, no more no less. What happens here is hardly likely to be of much interest to the rest of mankind. I know that we are all smarting from our association with the WTS but you will find that underneath the verbal sparring, people here are open to learning if things are presented in the right manner.
