I do not believe the GB members are purposefully deceiptful, but rather that they too are believers due to a lifetime of indoctrination. Does anyone know if all of them were born Jehovah's Witnesses, or if some came in later in life?

Wow, thanks for the responses. I would imagine they were all in their teens or twenties when they were baptised, as you would need decades of service before being appointed to the GB.

I think that I heard that Gerrit Losch was not raised in the "truth". I think he is about the only JW in his family beside his JW wife.

Albert Schroeder was first contacted while attending the University of Michigan. I don't think he finished.

I think some of you have said in the past that converts were never really treated the same as born in's at some congs, isn't it ironic that many of the leaders were not born in?

I don't recall converts not being treated the same. What I remember is that ALL the adults I knew were converts. It was a frequent topic among the adults as to how they "found the truth". I don't remeber any adult that I knew that had been raised as a JW. Now I was 15 when I left so it was a while back. I do remember some young married couples in our last congregation that had been raised JWs. I remember them as being very snobbish and very legalistic. They would have been the first people to jump on anyone they thought was "straying" and report them to the elders. They were really obnoxious and didn't seem to have a caring, loving bone in their bodies. They didn't even seem to be in love with their spouses. And these were young couples in their 20s that should have been enjoying new married life.
