Happy With Chrome

I've been using Google's Chrome browser for about 4 months now and love it. I love it mainly because it's simple and so fast compared with IE7. I know there are a lot of browsers that are better than IE7, but this thread is not about which is the best browser.

I'm curious to find out what others think vis a vis IE7 vs. Chrome. With Microsoft (I've been using MS products for 28 years now) the pattern has alway been more features = more failures, and more hair-pulling. Microsoft obviously doesn't read the Bible, because they keep putting new wine into old wineskins, in my experience.

What say you? (It's also ok to talk about your favorite pizza or ice cream in this thread, too).

I like Chrome also, though currently I switch between IE8 [beta] and Safari most of the time.

One problem with Chrome is that I could not get the page of thumbnails of previously visited sites to clear history. Not that I have anything to hide, but I would prefer to be able to manage this page. [I think it appears when you open a new tab.]

At first I could not locate all the tools, then eventually I found them ok. Just took a little getting used to.

I may revisit it on JWN to see how it does. I had found both Safari and Chrome to be poor browsers on JWD before.

I tried Chrome for a while. I liked it except for the fact that it would blow up for me using youtube all the time. I mean all the time. It may have just been something in my system that caused it to choke but I never figured out what it was. So I went back to Firefox.

I have favored Opera for a long time. It renders things oddly, overlapping and such, more than I like. I mostly use Firefox. I like some of the configurability but I am not liking how it is a memory hog, 2 and 3. I tried Safari. It was okay but I did not like how it tried to force feed itunes to me. I gave Chrome a test drive. It was okay, but needs a better interface and mature a little, get a linux port, plus my big concern is that Google is not using it to slurp my data.

I like Chrome though it still has a few bugs. On the old JWD.com board I just used to code html directly - not to sure if it works here

Google Chrome is my browser of choice although when developing I find myself using both IE and Firefox because of some of the add-ins.

I'm sure that will change once Chrome gets support for plug-ins, RSS reader etc...

I don't like the font-smoothing in Safari (see: http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/000884.html) but it's Ok as a browser although it should keep the lookand feel of a Windows app when running on Windows - same with stupid iTunes (and ironic as this is something Apple complains about with apps ported to OS X)

Opera should pack it in now and go home IMO ... supporting such a smnall market share browser is a royal PITA.
