Another thing this thread made me think of was that recently my brother-in-law recently referred to me as "Brother So-and-so" instead of just using my first name, which struck me as odd.
Did you Hate Being Called Brother ( last name ) Or use People's First Name?

When I first became involved I thought it was really family affectionate, but as the years rolled on and young children and I mean very young kids would address their elders (age wise ) as brother or sister it really got under my skin. How rude and disrepectful for a minor to address an elder other than mr (last name) or mrs (last name )

No not at all , it was a lot better than be called sister Homerovah
Although I did get caught going out in service in a dress once , unfortunately I was counseled on that by an elder and I had to stop

I don't think anyone called me Sister Belle outside of answering up or giving talks. Neither did I call them brother or sister - ever. It was first names for me.

JIMMY PAGE- Good point you make . Didn't Jesus say we are all brothers ? Yet the elders want to be treated so formalistically with honr. Good comment to your wife. That's weird your brother in law called you brother " so and so ". Very strange.
SMIDDY- We soon learn after getting into the organization that it's nothing like real family life - more like gestapo Nazi life. Very true.
HOMEROVAH- You were really a sister at one time ? I'm shocked. You and Coporal Clinger from Mash, eh ? Funny stuff. Glad the elders caught you in your dress before you did any more damage !
LOUBELLE- I'm glad you used first names. You are such a real, down to earth person I bet it was hard to say " brother " or " sister " ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
