for those that read the Dec 15-21 study article "Jehovahs answer to a heartfelt prayer" in the Oct15-08 Study Edition perhaps you know what I mean.

Paragraph 11 -

Throughout the time of the end Satan has incited his earthly agents to oppose the anointed remnant and their other sheep companions. That happened in Western Europe under the Nazis and in Eastern Europe under the communist government of the Soviet Union. It also in many other lands, and it will happen again, especially during the final attack of Gog of magog. In that attack, opposers may greedily seize the property and possessions of Jehovah’s people, as enemies have done in the past. Satans main goal, however, has always been to break us up as a people so that our God-given name will be remember no more.

So Satan has caused the Nazis to persecute JW's. So I guess the Jews are the true religion to then? Or were they only persecuted to get to us?

Oh by the way, Satans main purpose of his existence has ALWAYS been to undermine "Jehovahs Witnesses". All of the other evil in the world is just on the side for fun.

Paragraph 18 -

A humiliating end awaits determined opposers of Jehovah’s sovereignty. God’s word reveals that those who ”do not obey the good news” – and for this reason are executed at Armageddon – will suffer “everlasting destruction” Their destruction and the survival of those who worship Jehovah in truth will be convincing evidence that Jehovah is the only true God. In the new world, that great victory will not be forgotten. Those who come back in the “resurrection of ... the righteous and the unrighteous” will learn of Jehovah’s great act. In the new world, they will see convincing evidence of the wisdom of living under Jehovah’s sovereignty. And meek ones among them will quickly be convinced that Jehovah is the only true God.

Anyone else find the word "convince/ing" a bit odd?
Well first off, anyone that does not "obey the good news" will be destroyed - JW or not, if you dont OBEY - you are dead. So who are we "obeying"?
Well Jehovah of course right? WRONG! - obeying the "good news" means obeying the GB. Thus this MEANS - "those who do not obey the GB will suffer everlasing destruction at Armageddon."

So now back to "convincing evidence" - what the hell does that mean? Those who survive armageddon will see "convincing evidence" that jehovah is the only true god? Righteous & unrighteous will see "convincing evidence" in the new world...? WTF? meek ones will be "convinced"?

So the WTS is likening absolute proof with "convincing evidence"? Would not jehovah destroying everyone but JW's be absolute proof? So does this mean that the WTS only needs to present "convincing evidence" in order for R&F to accept as absolute proof?

I found this article rather odd, but very pointed in its focus on scaring the R&F into obedience.... more to come on this WT....

The GB demands unquestioning obedience as directing the one and only true religion and as true prophets. You want "convincing evidence" proving they are "the truth"? That will be generously provided in the "New World" after everyone who did not unquestioningly obey the GB are destroyed. Anyone alive today will be destroyed for not having faith in something for which there is no "convincing evidence". No one should require "convincing evidence" to worship the GB.

Funny how Writing Department has to resort to verbal gymnastics to say that without actually saying it. Even they realize that their "surviving" Nazi and Communist persecution isn't "convincing evidence" that they are "the truth".

Meaning: If you need evidence, you are going to die as the evidence. And that is not going to do a damn bit of good. Plus, there could be 50 or more groups saying the exact same thing--only one is right, but all of them seem like they are the right one. Pick the wrong one, and you die. It is pure LUCK if you get the right one--but you still have to thank that Almighty Lowlife Scumbag that will happily destroy you for picking the wrong religion out of all the ones that are saying the same thing.

Or, you can forget that Almighty Lowlife Scumbag, live your life, and hope that Almighty Sore Loser doesn't interfere with your happiness and success (if He can't suck you dry and use you up, He doesn't want you benefitting from living, either). At least you will not be rewarding that Almighty Loser for this stupid little game. Just turn your thumbs down on ALL of the religions--any God that will happily destroy people for not picking the right religion out of hundreds that all claim to be the one or that will sabotage your happiness because He cannot get all the benefit from your life is not worth worshiping (and is more worthy of slaps in the face instead).

I take it that the GB is using their new secret Watchtower to ratchet up the rhetorical pressure. I haven't payed much attention to JW's for the past year, but I have noticed a major shift in the way my JW family is acting of late. Now I'm starting to understand why.

Is anyone tracking the new study articles? Are their scans online?

See, this is why I do not believe in God as the Bible portrays him: the burden of proof is always laid on the subject; in other words, WE must prove that WE believe in HIM first. HE doesn't have to prove that HE EXISTS. For me, the fact that there are so many agnostics and athiests in the world prove that there is a tremendous lack of CONVINCING EVIDENCE that God exists. I just which He would do for me what he did for Gideon; show me a few miracles, then I'll believe and obey your arcane laws. Otherwise, your followers can just shut the fuck up.

That's insane! I started to read the rest of this article and I also found this gem:

Paragraph 17:

"The sanctification of Jehovah's name is far more important than human salvation."

Wait..what?? So Jesus coming down to die for all who believe in him is NOT important?? Whoa whoa... If the sanctification of God's name was more important, then why did Jesus come down in the first place??

Alleged future events can't be called "evidence" until they've taken place. So far the only "convincing evidence" I've seen is that which proves the watchtower to be full of shit.
