As most on this forum are aware, and as has happened to many of them perhaps, I have run through a common metamorphosis of Jw, XJw, looking for Christianity, doubts, where are we now, I don't know?

A friend of mine, who has gone thru similar metamorphosis, sent me this link. I was glued to this - It does not identify my position - but it identifies questions and reason that should be made by everyone who wants to identify his/her position following the exit from organized religion.

    Jeff

Could someone please make the link clickable? Thanx

I am so glad you got to see that. I sent the link to my closest of friends before
it went to the whole site, afraid that the large number of hits would make them
pull the movie from the web. I doubt they have permission to post the entire
movie. Watch it while you can.

Haven't watched the movie yet. Will do in a mo. But what an interesting comparision chart above. Ties in with my self-induced wordly education where I'm reading about common myths of various cultures and world religions at the same time.

    Thanks for posting it.

Having read some of this information, I find Jesus' very existence and the culture that surrounds him to be likely fiction or at least fictionalized.

How can Christians ignore these matters with complete indifference? How could we, or at least I, for decades piously surrounding myself with so-called Biblical references, not ever make a connection with these legends and myths? We really did just 'swallow' everything without evidence didn't we?

    Jeff,

It was spun to make us believe that these myths came about because jesus was real - ignoring the fact that those myths are way older! Just read any WT or Awake about the flood to see what i mean. They say that because there are flood myths in various cultures in far-flung localities around the world, then that makes the story true coz Noah's sons told their kids the story and so on. In spite of all the evidence to the contary...so yes, we did believe it as we were spoon-fed the "evidence" that supported the WTs position and steered away from anything conflicting.

Btw, I can't get the movie to play for me. I click the play symbol and I get a pop up offering me a ringtone subscripption! Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

It still works for me. The ad does pop up, but I just close it.

You can also view "full screen" with one of the options at the bottom.

I am not very techie. Something either works for me, or it doesn't.

That comparisons chart suffers from "parallelism", a form of fallacious reasoning by some bible critics. Many claimed parallels between mythical Gods and Jesus are bogus or exagerrated.
