I would suggest slowly giving a balanced education to your immediate family about the wt. I think it would be like innoculating them against the jw machinations. It's hard to explain the jw mindframe to an outsider, but it's something anyway.

Your exeperience is fascinating, and from my experience quite unusual. Generally once they DF you, you're off their radar screen.
Several postes her have offered sound advice, so the only thing I can stress is to deal with them straight-forwardly, frankly and firmly, and move on. Good luck.

and everytime the double act leaves magazines in your office

Well, everytime they talk to you, tell them about the UN thing, or the Nazi thing, or the time discrepancies in EVERY prophecy of theirs, etc. That should take care of their delusion.

I would choose being bugged by my family about reinstatement over being shunned by my family. Be careful what you ask for. You might get it.

Perhaps you are coming off too nicely or less than firm in your requests that they don't visit you. You need to keep in mind that most people want to get out of the door to door work, and the nice disfellowshipped person is a pleasant call for an elder to make.
If you decide to state specifically what you have problems with, such as the UN thing, they are likely to try to return and attempt to overcome such objections.
Try to be firm but not angry or mean in insisting that they no longer contact you. Tell them if that is not respected you will contact Bethel and inform them of taking legal action. Bethel will contact your local elders and tell them to respect your wishes.

loved the post- and really in my opinion you are correct the for the avg joe blow elder is just as much a victim of the wt SYSTEM as the rank and file
the avg jw be it elder or pub has been indoctrinated so much and for so long that the wt value system of a person WORTH is embedded into thier very fiber of a human being -
i find that so many folks come here pissed off at elders and publishers and family for the way in which they treat them- yet these same former jw many times never take a moment to examine all the info that is free here on the net that deals with High Control Groups
after reading the info on how how control groups work and thier impact on the mindset of it's followers- it bcame so clear to me how a jw can be friends with you for 30yrs come to the hall and an annoucement is made and they can turn off thier feelings right then and there as it were- what type of mind control can cause a person who had been told that a friend of 30yrs is now DFed NOT EVEN WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED
YOU WOULd AT LEAST think the person would call the person and say:
"John-- what is going on- i heard you are now DFed - John what happened man?"
instead the avg jw would never call this person since they have been indoctrinated to ACCEPT THAT whatever he did the elders tried to help him and he refused-
in my view the avg jw never even gives consideration to the fact that the elders could have been wrong/handled the case wrong/ been unqualified even by WT own standards. etc
they merely are taught week in and week out to accept whatever they are told-
but there is good news i guess, as i see so many jw posting here on this site- even if they claim to be supporting the WT position we all know that is a Lie- whether they realize it or not
for we all know that any real jw would click on this site and see the content and by next sunday - be sitting in the backroom confessing t the elders that they were looking at "Spirtual Porno"
instead we have reg "loyal" jw posters --smile
i just love it-- for any jw who is here has already taken the very first steps to leaving the org even if they don't realize it

I have had a couple of JW stop by the house a few times to try and get me back to the meetings (I am not d/f or d/a yet)...what has worked for me is when they ask one of their leading questions...you know the kind..uuummm with all the world events going to don't you feel like we are in the last days??? I respond with NO I don't...every effort they make to draw me in is met with a negative...and then I express just how happy I am NOW...funny they have quit coming by....
nelly's advice on putting the silent lamb/freeminds stickers on the WT & Awake mags they leave is truly inspired!!!! Bravo nelly!

Oh Boy, I went through this one! When I married Her Ladyship, my parents decided that the way to get me back in the dubs was to convert my missus! (She'd make a lovely sister, BLEAH!)
Well, HL was quite shrewd here, she got 'em talking about the roles that women play in the WTBTS, then said Oh no thank you, our marriage vows were for a partnership, not an ownership, I couldn't possibly have anything to do with a religion that thinks that women should be subservient!
