On the vent---I HATE how Witnesses make you more loyal to The Organization than they do to God or humans.

Not celebrating ANY holidays. I mean, i'll give you christmas and easter, but not thanksgiving, birthdays, mothers day and fathers day.

How come they won't celebrate holidays but will buy and eat the holiday candy?

MOST JWs I know of drink in excess. And eat a lot too.

This is true. It is the only vice the WT hasn't forbidden. My JW BIL drinks everyday. Not beer, but mixed drinks.

Counting and reporting time spent in the ministry. Show me where that's at in the Bible. And then using it as the main basis for appointment as an MS or elder.

When I first started to study my Mother in law was a JW..

They didn't like Doctors or trust them. They believed in trying natural remedies to help you. They even had a healing "Light Box" they called it the "Spectrum Light Box" I believe..well I knew nothing about the religion at first and the way they talked I thought that was part of their religious beliefs..

It was so funny because my hubby got sick and we eventually did have to call a doctor..they made house calls then..at least this one did..he was the last of a dying breed..anyway she called me and told me to hide the "Light Box" that she had lent hubby..I thought that was so funny..she was afraid of the Doctor!!!I still chuckle over that.

A lot of the witnesses at that time believed in that box..I just assumed it was a religious thing till I later found out it wasn't. They were just too cheap to pay for a Doctor...
