i can remember the rush to be gone before the anthem started after the cinema film, or the need to be seated until it had finished.... but

can anyone explain to me why the international delegates wear national costume?

and why they used to be welcomed to the conventions and sometimes their attire made comment of.....is that not some sort of country symbol worship? are they to be idolised as something special or are they just another convention attendee like anyone else? why do they need to be in national dress?
