John14:25-26) 25 "While remaining with YOU I have spoken these things to YOU. 26 But the helper, the holy spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach YOU all things and bring back to YOUR minds all the things I told YOU.

Jesus said the Father would send the helper, and he identified it. The apostles knew about it, and said they had been "filled with it" and it gave them some impressive skills. Most Christians are in harmony with that thought. The Apostles never once referred to themselves as the "faithful slave" much less "class", but as the "chosen ones."

I believe WT states that the anointed have been here since jesus death...and were always on earth in some form or another all the way up til now. So if jesus said the big helper was this holy spirit, why would there need to be a faithful slave added? And if the anointed were the ones always leading the way for true christians, were they all Faithful Slave? I believe the WT would say that for some reason they became this Faithful Slave "appointed over all my belongings" only in the last days, which i believe they say happened in 1919. Well...if they anointed were ALREADY in the position of leading the way and dispensing food at the proper time....why the need to kinda change the name and form this "CLASS"???.....oompa

The FDS are the "Hidden Masters" of hypnotism and fear.

Since they are "hidden" it's only right and comical that they would try to pass themselves off as holy ghost(s).

No need, IF the socalled holy spirit helper was/is real. 'Course, the wt gets around it by saying that only a few select SPECIAL people get that, and only in ONE religion,,,, theirs. And, those special people who god/jesus has seen fit to give the spirit get to run the religion. Cool, eh?

Holy spirit had to work through someone.
Sure, it could work through all the individuals on earth, but H.S. didn't have
a printing press available to it. C.T. Russell did.

quite an interesting thought oompa, The Holy Spirit was all that was needed not a class of men to say they are spirit directed channel used by God because that is not in the Bible.

have you ever wondered if the WTS ever looks at what we post and if it sounds logical would they actually change their thoughts from something they have seen or here?

    I bet they have.

So if jesus said the big helper was this holy spirit, why would there need to be a faithful slave added? Oompa..Since when did Jesus have a say, after the WBT$ fired him?......The WBT$ calls the shots now!.....Even Jehovah does as he`s told,by the WBT$.....The WBT$ made God cancel Armageddon in 1975.....God would`nt have a Job without the WBT$!!..

So what is your take on Matthew 24:45-47 Oompa? Of course, the WTS's spin on the whole 1919 appointment thing is nonsense, nevertheless, Jesus did say that when he arrived he would find a faithful and discreet slave faithfully feeding and when he would appoint a faithful slave over all his belongings. What do you think this means? Where is this slave?

Yadda, I realize your question is directed toward Oompa...but I just have to say....that scripture has been so twisted and ingrained in JWs that they can't even read it right. It was just a parable used to illustrate a point. It has absolutely nothing to do with Jesus personally appointing anyone to be in charge. It was about being able to trust someone when there is no one around to make sure they are doing right. It was about doing the right thing for the sake of conscience. It was about continuing on doing what you know is right and not becoming discouraged. Jesus implies that eventually you will have to answer to someone for the repercussions of your actions.

I will be glad to see the day when WT has to answer for all the harm they have caused. Those evil ones at the top know what they are doing and it's deliberate.

    I agree Cameo-d,

And the parable has so much more force when one applies it to himself,am I faithfully carrying out what Jesus asks?

When you start looking to someone else or a "class" to take that responsibility you lose out.

The whole of the N.T comes alive and speaks to you personally if you read it ,after prayer, with an open heart and mind, and with those "Watchtower Goggles" firmly crushed under foot!
