    Excellent point, VM44!

"Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. 32 "And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in the age to come,"

Further proof that the WTBTS doesn't understand a thing they teach.

Yeah for sure! The WT don't know the first thing about the Holy Spirit.

    John 14:16-18 (New International Version)

16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

So how can Jesus say another Counselor will come to you if this counselor does not counsel us?!

counselor |'ka?ns(?)l?| (also chiefly Brit. counsellor ) noun 1 a person trained to give guidance on personal, social, or psychological problems

Notice a counselor is a person, not an impersonal force. Does an impersonal force have feelings, can be grieved, sinned against, speak, intercede? All biblical things the Holy Spirit does.

Notice also how Jesus says He will not leave us as orpans (without a Father) but He will come to us i.e. in the form of the Holy Spirit.

    Galatians 4:6 (New International Version)

6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father."

Notice is says "Spirit of his Son" i.e. Jesus is the Holy Spirit.

    Romans 8:14-15 (New International Version)

14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

Same Holy Spirit is now called the "Spirit of God".

So in short, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus and the Spirit of God. Sounds very like a theological principal beginning with the letter "T" to me!

    All the best,

    Stephen
