rebel8, that's hilarious! I love it.... those Morans!
And as Ninja has pointed out in previous threads....
"Millions Now Dying Have Never Lived."
What does Zeph 2:3 say?
"3. seek Jehovah, all YOU meek ones of the earth, who have practiced His own judicial decision. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably YOU may be concealed in the day of Jehovah’s anger."
What does this scripture have to do with buying and reading Judge Rutherford's books?

What's the big deal? They were only off a few generations or maybe a few centuries, which is not a major problem for people who are still faithfully wating for Jesus to return in "one generation".
Then, based upon the promises set forth in the divine Word, we must reach the positive and indisputable conclusion that millions now living will never die. --Millions Now Living Will Never Die, 1920, p.97
Thus in 1918 the president of the Watch Tower Society delivered a talk in Los Angeles, California, on a subject later to be repeated by hundreds more speakers, under the title “The World Has Ended, Millions Now Living May Never Die.”-----w84 2/1 p. 24 par. 11 ‘Oneness of Spirit’ in a Rapidly Growing Flock
Typical sleigh of hand in their re-writing their own history to make it seem less full of shit damaging that what it was. The original quote said it was "indisputable" and that they were "positive" that million in 1925 would never die. But the quote in 1984 is changed to where they claim that Rutherfraud said they "may" never die.
Like 1975, the blame could once again be put onto the rank and file for "reading too much into it".
How pathetic.
Yup, and millions now living may win the lottery or pick the trifecta for the next five years at the Kentucky Derby.
MAY being the operative word.
As far as I recall, the speech was originally held as "may not die", but was later in print and speech changed to "will not die", so if referring to an early version of the speech given by Rutherford, it would be correct to state the title was "may not".
The title, "Millions Now Living May Never Die" was used on only one occasion. This was the original lecture given by Rutherford on February 24, 1918 at the Temple Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The title was then changed to the more confident, "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" and delivered thousands and thousands of times by numerous Bethel speakers around the world, distributed in printed form, advertised, etc. over the next several years.
There was a tendency in 80's JW literature to soften the confidence of the prediction by referring to the original title, but that is so transparent an obfuscation that even they don't do it anymore
