Little Lulu, Richie Rich, Donald Duck and friends, Archie, Jughead, Betty, Veronica, Baby Huey, Superman, Scooby Do, I have them boxed up, can't remember what all I have.
Same with old 45's, 33's and 78's...
Snoozy...
Who didn't want to be like Richie Rich?
Thanks Captain. At least I had the initials.
Man time was, I had all this stuff memorized.
I agree, Captain Schmideo, "Daredevil Redemption" was awesome. I also agree that Byrne dropped the ball on Superman and was never the same since. I remember Walt Simonson also and Beta Ray Bill.
Seeker4, I can't believe you know Bissette and Veitch. I think I just creamed my pants. Hook me up! Or at least tell me what they're like.
Big Tex, I was a big big fan of Byrne's Fantastic Four. And I do remember Neal Adams (who was a big influence on Byrne).
I liked comic books when I was a kid, but being a JW kid my parents didn't let me get the "cool" books I wanted. I was stuck with Archie comics and other "safe" comics. I did get the occasional Superman and Batman.
Because of my lack of real exposure to a lot of comics, I never developed more than a passing interest in them once I was older. I have a non-JW friend who grew up a comic book geek however. His best friend even owns a comic book shop. So through these guys, I've had a chance to get exposed to some of the classic graphic novels and comics that I missed over the years. And they keep me up to date on the cool new stuff and the movies that are coming based on graphic novels and comic books.
I'm glad I'm not as obsessed with it as they are, but it is nice to have a connection that can educate me when I want it.
I used to be quite the comic book geek. I have several boxes full of my readers in the garage. I perferred superhero and some RR. But for the more humerous I liked Sergio Arogones, Mad Magazine.
Did you ever read "Groo the Wanderer", Quirky?
Richie Rich and the Archies bring back some memories. My daughter just got me into them again. I'm reading the Walking Dead series and just finished "Y, the Last Man," which was awesome. I highly recommend that series - unforgettable.
I love The Crow. It's a very violent story, but I still love it. I always liked Spawn too. Our son is named after Wolverine.....go figure.
My husband was HUGE into comics and graphic novels.
