Glad that i didn't see that movie, and now, most likely never will. It's another form of dumbing down society/civilization, when they put such a shine on stupidity. Another facet of political correctness, imo. Glad someone can cut through the razzle dazzle and tell it for what it is.

You're missing the point satanus. Stupid was not what defined Gump. This movie is not putting a shine on stupid.

satanus, with the greatest respect, how wise is it to form one's opinion about a film without actually going to see it?

Bubba was pretty cool, too. It's awsome what Forrest did for his mother. She ended up having a white cook.

    'You're missing the point satanus.'

Can you point out the point, again?

'how wise is it to form one's opinion about a film without actually going to see it?'

It's a real time saver. Further, if you know how people are, their opinions of movies can tell you a lot. Secondly, movies are like busses, if you miss one, no biggie, there are always more coming;)

Yeah you gotta see it! Just been reading some quotes from the film. One of my top ten films of all time for sure.

Forrest Gump: My momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

Forrest Gump: Mama always said, dying was a part of life.

Lieutenant Daniel Taylor: Have you found Jesus yet, Gump?
Forrest Gump: I didn't know I was supposed to be looking for him, sir.

Forrest Gump: He was from a long great military tradition. Somebody from his family had fought and died in every single American war. I guess you could say he had a lot to live up to.

Forrest Gump: The best thing about visiting the President is the food! Now, since it was all free, and I wasn't hungry but thirsty, I must've drank me fifteen Dr. Peppers.

    More here :)

This film is special. It teaches and leaves one pondering the meaning of life while entertaining at the same time. I'm definately going to buy it. It takes you on a historical trip through time and visits all the important and famous events but looks at it from an entirely different perspective. Those who actually like to think deeply about things tend to really love this movie.
