Apocalyptic Cults Always Predict the " Last Days "-Why it's a Total Farce

It was written at Psalms 94, where our deliverance was supposed to have been at hand. And that was more than 3,000 years ago. Seems science is going to make escargot out of Jehovah--that is, unless that Almighty Sore Loser wastes more time squashing science instead of moving ahead and delivering people.

    One of my favorite quotes:

"Throughout history countless numbers of people have predicted the end of the world and they all have one thing in common: They were all wrong." -- [Unknown]

They believe that those signs are going to be literal and that Jesus will literally come on down, go to Jerusalem & set up his kingdom for a 1000 years -

LouBelle....that is NOT what Jesus said. Jesus said "I go to prepare a place". I can't quote it verbatim without looking it up, but it implies that he will come back for us and TAKE us somewhere. NEVER, ever does he say he will establish a kingdom on this earth.

As a matter of fact he says "my kingdom is not of this world"....and as for living forever, he says you cannot put new wine in old skins. He says flesh and blood cannot enter. We cannot be blood creatures and exist where he is taking us.

I look forward to the time when the Flying Spaghetti Monster will return to earth and reward all of the Pirates (and everyone dressed like a pirate) with eternal life in paradise with a Beer Volcano and Stripper Factory.

Christianity and preoccupation with end-times go together like cheese and crackers. Within every Christian lies a beating heart that hankers for Christ's return, and ipso facto, looks forward to the end.

    Hi LouBelle,

"Don't all christians believe in some sort of Last Days when Jesus comes again ? - The ones I've spoken too do anyway. They believe the whole revelation book is a sequence of events that WILL take place. They believe that those signs are going to be literal and that Jesus will literally come on down, go to Jerusalem & set up his kingdom for a 1000 years"

Yeah for sure, I believe the things depicted are en route. The stage is being set quickly now. Israel have had their own homeland since 1948 for the first time in nearly 2000 years and now these prophecies have "come to pass".

Isaiah 66:8 (New King James Version)

8 Who has heard such a thing?
    Who has seen such things?
Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day?
Or shall a nation be born at once?
For as soon as Zion was in labor,
She gave birth to her children.

    Jeremiah 29:14 (New International Version)

14 I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. [a] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."

    Ezekiel 11:17 (New International Version)

17 "Therefore say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.'

Many other signs that the things in Revelation and Daniel can happen before too long. The EU is ready to do it's thing on a world stage, technology is at a point when 666 is possible and a one world government and (anti-christ) leader. There will be all sorts of horrors in the seven year tribulation period. Many of the things mentioned are already global concerns e.g. bird flu pandemic, full-scale nuclear war, meteor strike etc. Armageddon will be a literal battle on the plains outside Jerusalem with the amassed armies of 200 million (Rev 9:16) as many countries go to "wipe Israel of the face of the map" as they are already promising. Forget all the WT lies about annihilation, why would the bible say that after this event the dead are to be resurrected and judged?!

"so I'm not too sure what happens to the whole heaven theory then...you go to heaven and then come down when jesus sets up the kingdom & then what??? very confusing. Actually I think that can a point of discussion next time I see them christians."

Quite simple really, just read the last three chapters of the bible. Christ comes down from heaven and rules with the "tribulation saints" from the first resurrection for 1000 years (Rev 20:4). Then Satan is released and Armageddon ensues (Rev 20:9). Then comes the second resurrection and the day of judgment (Rev 20:11-15). Make sure you are born again as Jesus said and your name is in the Lamb's Book Of Life!

The New Jerusalem comes down "out of heaven" (Rev 21:2 & 10) to the new earth and the saints dwell in it with God thereafter (Rev 21:3). No mention of anyone living up in heaven as the place Jesus has prepared us has come down out of heaven!

    John 14:2 (New International Version)

2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.

So forget the WT two tier believer and dwelling system, it is all a lie.

    John 10:16 (English Standard Version)

16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.

    John 17:11 (English Standard Version)

11 And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one.

    All the best,

    Stephen

Thanks for all the replies. Been busy with work - not much time to respond.

OTWO- Thanks for the link to the " History " book. I'll have to look into that.

LEOLAIA- Wow ! So that cult's shenanigans was in your newspaper when it happened ? Interesting. Thanks for the link to the book - I'll check it out.

WATSON- Very true. Too familiar the statements from all these apocalyptic cults. It's like they are all poured out of the same ceral box. Ridiculous.

CAMEO-D- Thanks for the movie trailer. Hysteria is catchy- for sure !

KAYTEE- Very true what you say. I totally agree. These cults should not only be taken to court for misleading others- but in my opinion the leaders be thrown into prison for fraud, deception, and murder in some instances. Too many people have lost too much.

CHALAM- I think the entire Bible and it's prophecies are really a crock of $hit. It's interesting history - to be sure that some documentation was made and verified about ( King Solomon's garden's ) for instance - but there has been suffering and wars and crime for centuries on this planet - and even more death and destruction in the dark ages and during the inquisitions . So I think things will continue on this planet just as they have for centuries. I don't think any God or power in the universe will destroy mankind - however if we keep polluting the earth and destroying the ozone , and killing marine life in the ocean's by dumping sewage into it - mankind just may kill himself off in the centuries ahead. Just my take.

AK- JEFF- Now that you and OTWO recommended the " History " book- I'll really have to look into it ! Thanks.

SACOLTON- Yeah, exactly. All religions claim to have a monopoly on God and Jesus - all of them claim THEY will be saved through the alleged " Armageddon " or " Last days " - I think in reality they need to just focus on the here and now and get more grounded in this life and stop worrying about a " future " life which won't even come.

LOUBELLE- Very true. I think most religions teach some sort of " last days " or Christ coming back , or something. Well , in my opinion, if he went on a trip- it's sure been a hell of a long vacation.

WTWIZARD- I think you are right- maybe God is an " almighty sore loser " ! That's funny ! Nothings happened so far ! 3,000 years !

ELSEWHERE- I agree with you - Everybody has been wrong when predicting the end. I think they will all have a long wait.

CAMEO-D- I think Jesus day in the sun is done. I think he had his 15 minutes of fame between 0 A.D. and 33 A.D. Probably a very good man with special gifts to help others , and was mistreated horribly like millions of other humans have been , but like others he still died - as all people do eventually .

STEVE 2 - I agree with you. Most people who are " Christians " expect a Christ return. But I feel they will just get " Christ reruns " from reading the Bible.

PURPLE SOFA- Cool U-tube. Very interesting

    Hi flipper,

    Thanks for the words.

"CHALAM- I think the entire Bible and it's prophecies are really a crock of $hit."

OK but how about the state of Israel in 1947 for example? Or the prophecies of Jesus coming, specific details about His birth, life and death?

Take the whole of Isaiah 53 for example?

    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=29&chapter=53&version=31

Historians have no problem with the authenticity and age of this text, hundreds of years before even the birth of Christ.

"I don't think any God or power in the universe will destroy mankind"

Neither do I, that is for JWs who believe in their take on "Armageddon". I do believe that He will bring justice and judgement one day though.

    Anyhow, good text here.

2 Peter 3:3-9 (New International Version)

3 First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

    All the best,

    Stephen
