For one thing, under current orders the GaSDF is unarmed. We're limited to non-combatant ops.
But as you say, I'd uphold the Constitution. That was part of the Oath I swore today. The Second Amendment is every bit as much a part of the Constitution I swore to uphold as the rest of it.
The military and police in New Orleans during the aftermath of Katrina were ordered to disarm the citizenry. That order was later subject to many Constitutional challenges which I personally agree with. A federal law was later passed prohibiting any further such disarming.
I wish I could just come out and give you a patriotic answer, but I can't. What I can tell you is that I'm not alone in my pro-2A stance and that there are officers and NCO's who may suffer temporary blindness.
