I will not anwser at the meetings unless it is an apostate answer/question!........i am so bummed our right now......first i had a second surgery on my knee from an accident eight months ago.....and .......my wife is out of state visiting family......just like the first time my knee had surgery!!!!...weird.....but a few months ago i told her i had a holiday all planned out for Rome, Tuscany, and Paris......ten days........so she says she is so stressed about world events (and prob just me) that she does not want to go........and now i just told her five minutes ago that i have found a little slice of paradise that i want to take her too....and that i will have her bag all packed and surprise her with where we are going......and that if i miss anything she needs.....i will take her shopping!!!!!!!!!.......and she says she is not interested!!!.....and that she would NEVER want me to pack for her?????????

this is the woman i was going to go back to the meetings for next week............oompa.....shoot me

Oompa - sorry to hear this. Sounds like she has been assimilated into the Borg.

I remember - when still married to the ex-wife - who was/is a JW - I saw a bus headed for the Mexican border for a day-trip into Mexico (this was back when it was still safe to go across the border and shop).

Anyway - I made the comment - "I think that it would be fun to do that - go to Mexico on a bus."

Her comment? "Only if it was a bus full of JWs."

I realized that she had been assimilated by the Borg. She had forgotten the day-trip that we had taken to Houston-NASA when our daughter was only about 4 or 5 years old. I paid for - and took along her younger brothers. We all had a blast!

It was not too long after that - that I moved out - and filed for divorce. I refused to live my life with someone who was going to put their religion above our having any fun.

Oompa my heart goes out to you. It is time to re-evaluate your relationship, she could not even be bothered to be by your side while you where undergoing surgery. The really sad part is that her behavior is not a one time incident, she has chosen to be absent during your medical time of need twice. It saddens me to see any other human being treated this way.

Oompa, any chance you can go without her? Take someone who would enjoy your company. You gotta live your life, man. Don't put it on hold just because your wife has. You gotta seize the opportunity to be happy NOW. It's not selfish to think of yourself ... and I don't know if you really put yourself first, but you should. You can't save everyone.

Tell her that if SHE wants your company at the meetings that she WILL go with you on vacation. and I think she should have at least help you recover from knee surgery. When my hubby had his vesectomy I babied him when he got home just like he wanted. Doesn't she understand that men are sicker than women when they are sick?!

salco...i am doing that already....i just went to NYC and Vegas without her....but with family and friends instead.......but RECOVERING........this surgery thing is just a weird fluke.........it is not a bad recovery....i can get around on crutches........and plus the surgery came after both of her non-reundable air tickets were bought.......so NBD.........i like the quiet time............but you do not want to know how i reacted to her comment on packing her bags for the trip.....trust me....i did not get angry at all..........................oompa
