I made Minesterial Servant at age 17. I was a pioneer at age 18.
I eventually stopped pioneering and after I got married moved to a new KH where I never was quite sure what my MS status was. I did accounts for a while but the Elders never explicitly said I was an MS. Eventually they told me that I actually was an MS, but that I would not longer be one. The feeling was mutual, I was getting pretty sick of the whole thing and was happy I no longer had those responsibilites.
I walked away at age 24 btw.

I made Minesterial Servant at age 17.
The asshole PO at my hall had a rule that you couldn't be an MS until you were 19 years old. I was a super young Dub from 15 to 18. I graduated high school a year early and began regular pioneering at 17. At 18 the circuit overseer invited me to move away to another state to serve where the need was great with an eye to applying to Bethel the following year. Right around that time, before I turned 19 I started going out with a pretty young thing at the Hall and got in trouble for not following the Society's rules on appropriate boundaries in a relationship, if you know what I mean. I turned myself in, by the way. Needless to say, the invite from the CO fell through. The elders were discouraging me from doing it anyway. They were not big fans of mine. Their attitude towards me reminds me of the experience former MTS grads have shared on this board.
During the time I was pioneering, I got the pleasure of watching a few young 20s assholes get promoted to MS even though they skipped out on most meetings and lied on their field service reports. One guy in particular was not ashamed about it in the least. Being an MS helped his ability to pick up chicks at the assemblies. He eventually got reproved for boning a married sister. Meanwhile I sat there heartbroken, biting my tongue as I got passed over in favor of these hypocritical assholes. I kept thinking that persevering would show my loyalty to Jehovah, typical Dub nonsense.
For years I beat myself over the head about this looking back at what could have been. I didn't realize that I had done myself a huge favor by turning down the CO's offer. I have successfully faded, and few people from my old Hall care about what I'm doing now. I'm certain that it would have been a lot more difficult to sever ties with the Watchtower had I realized the "truth" was crap while I was in Bethel, or an elder somewhere. Having been passed over for "congregation privileges" was a blessing in disguise, although it took me nearly a decade to realize it.
