Fred Franz was known for giving weird talks in the sense that he would pronounce words in a strange ways, ramble on for extended periods, and exceed the allotted time for speaking. He violated most of the rules in the "Theocratic School" book for giving talks.

It is even said he gave a public prayer once at a convention that went on for 20 minutes!

Why wasn't Fred Franz counciled concerning his public speaking like everyone else is in the congregations when they give their talks?

Or does one become beyond being counciled if one gets high enough in The Watchtower Organization?

Perhaps Fred Franz couldn't change the way he presented himself, so what would be the point of giving him any advice?

I seriously wonder if Fred Franz could have supported himself if he was out on his own and didn't have The Watchtower Corporation to take care of him.

In The Watchtower World Fred Franz was a celabrity. Celabrities are allowed to act strangely while everyone else must act normally and obey the "rules"!

It is interesting that today there are really no well known personalities associated with The Watchtower. The Organization has lost its personality and has become a bland faceless institution.

He was the Oracle. He made his own rules and everyone accepted it with "Well, that's Freddy".

I was there in Yankee Stadium for his 20 min. prayer.

In the book The Orwellian World of Jehovah's Witnesses a personal experience is told in which Fred Franz is said to have taken a group of people out to eat at a chinese restaurant.

What I want to know is where Fred Franz got the money to pay the tab??!!

Freddy Franz was as close as we'll ever come to seeing God. Show some respect.

Cant have seen the G/B members of that time having money problems, the various books I've read by Creitein/Denchler etc, exposed Knorr and others as receiving large estates/wills/cars/ bestowed in their names, whoever was at the restaurant at that time should have ordered some fine Cognacs to finish their meal

    Are you serious?

All those guys were the beneficiaries of tax-free "green handshakes".

Richard Rawe talks a little about just one individual in the Pacific Northwest that he knew who regulary sent generous gifts to the Watchtower leadership.

Multiply that by hundreds (most, but not all, JWs are lower- or middle-class.) Then consider that these guys had NO cost-of-living expenses; everything was paid for by the "organization: free housing, free food, free travel, free laundry.

But isn't that illegal? Certainly, it must be ok.
