It's not illegal to give people gifts.
In the USA, under the present tax laws, a person can receive up to $10,000 in cash gifts per year from any other individual tax-free.
I didn't mean to suggest that it was illegal money, only that it goes about 20-30% further when you don't have to give "Uncle" his share.
By the way, I *AM* currently accepting all gifts most graciously, if you wondered.
What I want to know is where Fred Franz got the money to pay the tab??!!

I know somebody visiting NY and he was taken for dinner, along with the non-witness accountant whose firm advises the Society (they pay hundreds of thousands to the firm for this)

Why wasn't Fred Franz counciled concerning his public speaking like everyone else is in the congregations when they give their talks?
Or does one become beyond being counciled if one gets high enough in The Watchtower Organization?
I know that this is true all the "bethel speakers" went way over their time. I know this because the only notes that I ever kept track of was how much time is left at the convention.
