Since we are unable to bring forth a class-action law suit against the Watchtower Society due to laws in place that protect religion, has anyone thought about or tried to expose the JW's in the media? People need to be aware this is NOT a loving group of people as they want to be perceived. Everything I read recently placed alot of blame on JW"s who have left since it is their fault they joined in the first place. What about those of us who were raised our entire lives in the religion, never being able to have a choice. Then once we make our choice we are disowned by our own flesh and blood due to the brain washing our families have been put through. For those that have large JW families and many friends throughout one's life, leaving can be such a psychological and traumatic experience. When one chooses to leave the religion and therefore leave behind everyone they have known and loved their whole life, it's not something a person can quickly get over. These JW tactics and punishments should be brought to light, I think Oprah's viewers would be absolutely shocked at what some of us have been through.

Hey newbie here.....I too have often thouth that going on Oprah would be eye opening for the general public since most of society think's JW's are just a main stream religious group...argh how frustrating is that? anyway's I'm in...Oprah here we come!!

Oprah is already catching hell from the religious right over what they perceive as her starting her own religion, following her webinar a year ago with Eckhart Tolle. Of course that is a ridiculous notion that is based on fear, but I just can't see her show casing the JWs in light of what's already going on. If anything, there would be an even more ugly backlash from the fundamentalists that she would come to regret.

welcome newbies,
Classifications for members based on # of posts are gone I see.
Oprah might not work,
I hear her show is part of the worldly media controlled by Satan.

Welcome Cali2CO and PT, great to have new ones able to join again.
I have thought of going on TV here in Australia, but don't want to be branded for life as an exJW, or for that matter hurt my family more than I already have.
I am in two minds about JWs being showcased on TV. On one hand it may help protect people from them, but on the other hand it is free marketting. As the saying goes, any publicity is good publicity. The more air play JWs get, the more likely people are to engage with them at the doors. Knowing how well training JWs are compared to the average householder, there is always a chance that such an engagement will lead to some getting sucked into the religion.

Many media shows aren't willing to take the flak and stand up to the mega-$$$ WTS. I have tried in the past on local leveles and the networks wouldn't touch it for fear of litigation

Very interesting feedback...thank you all for your input! Just makes me sick the way the leaders are ruining families and it sits fine with them.
