    Hello,

I have Adobe Illustrator CS4 on my Windows Vista laptop.

I would like to convert a multi-page word document to pdf using Ai CS4. Is this possible? I can open a word doc using Ai CS4 but it just opens the FIRST page. I can only convert that first page to a pdf.

    Any suggestions??

    Many thanks in advance :-)

    Hi Kudra,

Does Word allow you to export your doc as a .pdf?

If not, I know OpenOffice will. It's a free download.

there is a job at Yosemite I want to apply for and I need to submit some files as pdfs...

I think I can convert my transcripts that I scan and save as jpgs as pdfs using Ai CS4.

But I want to be able to do the sam for word docs

You should be trying to PRINT to your Adobe PDF (printer). Not convert it.

Will open office have to be my default something or other? Will it be straightforward to convert or will I have to paste in some lines of code? I am a code-phobe.

It is taking it a while to download- so I can't answer these questions by just trying it out...

hi sacolton- what if I just want to save something as a pdf. I have tried to do that thing witht he printer but I can't -I think you need Adobe Acrobat to do that...

Yes, you need Adobe Acrobat. It's a free download. When you "print" to the PDF (printer) it creates the PDF file. I use Adobe Acrobat and it has always worked flawlessly for me.

Wow-- open office is very easy and converts in one click!!! I read on their help page that you had to paste a bunch of code in... anyhoo.

sacolton-- I mean Adobe uuuughghghh- I can't rememberr but I thought you needed another not-free adobe package to make pdfs. I do have acrobat. Maybe it is adobe reader?? is that free?

I can't find it now but it was listed as ~500 bucks online at the adobe site.

But the OpenOffice worked really well.

    Thanks 6of9!!
