The best protest is not going at all.

I think, in this case, that protesting doesn't really help...my opinion

I agree with you. IMHO, these demonstrations reinforce the Persecution Complex that many JWs have.

David Reed (ex-JW, author) said that he and his wife saw an apostate holding a sign at a District Convetion that read, "Read the Bible, Not the Watchtower". This caught his attention.

The greatest effect, if any, would be on the mind of a new person attending the Hall for the first time. They might think to themselves, "Perhaps I should attend a church that doesn't have protesters standing outside encouraging me to read the Bible."

When they see a group of "apostates" protesting, it only causes them to scurry closer to "mother's" protection, setting back our efforts.

Undercover !!!!that is not entirely true. I have met several folk who on attending an assembly saw us picketing & mocked....when they eventually came out of bondage we laughed about it.

I say each do as they feel in their heart.... we are..>>>>>.. FREE!!!! I picket because I want to WARN others
"Ive been there done that" & it cost me 25 years of my young life.Serving a false prophet who has now captured my daughter & grand-daughter & holding them captive

Your persecuting those poor Jehovah`s Witness`s..It proves they are Gods only True religion!!..........................At least thats the way they will see it..LOL!!.........These sorts of protests are useless..It only re-enforces the Siege Mentality of your average JW.....But..If it makes you feel better go for it...................I`m going to protest in front of my TV with a cold beer and a good movie..LOL!!................................OUTLAW

I'm glad that some people are doing this. I'm sure that the results will be mixed, hopefully it will be more beneficial than harmful. I think it is fair to say that some dubs will probably never have their eyes opened and will just become more determined when they face "persecution". However, a few might check a website or two and start down the path of recovery. I think it is more important that newcomers to the hall and the general public are warned about the dangers of the Jehovah's Witnesses. The public usually thinks of Witnesses as minor nuisances and don't realise how dangerous they are.

I personally wouldn't be interested in joining this kind of protest, but don't want to criticise those who do. They may be doing some good, or if not, maybe we can at least learn from their mistakes.

I might be interested in joining a protest if certain conditions are met. These are just my preferences.

I don't like doing anything that will make people sympathetic towards the Witnesses. Protesting on their "holy day" might not be the best strategy. The special talk after the memorial (or any other Sunday) might be more effective. There is also the advantage that the signs could be better seen in the daylight and the dubs might not feel as persecuted.

I wouldn't want to join a protest that just advocates an alternate theology.

I would prefer smaller protests that seem less intimidating, something that makes it look like we are trying to educate rather than "protest". If a lot of people want to help, they can always distribute themselves among several halls.

Hello! Sue, we have a limited supply of signs available at no cost, just pay for the shipping. The only request that we make is that you go to a Kingdom Hall with these signs and send us a digital picture or video of your demonstration. These pictures and videos will be used in a You Tube video to be made after April 9,2009.

Research Lady, please reiterate your purposes. Check all that apply. Thanks.

    a) therapeutic for ex-jws and those harmed by the jw cult

    b) encourage jws to leave the cult

    c) educate the public in a credible, sensible manner so they will be better equipped to avoid involvement with cults (without regard for how actions will affect jws)

    d) encourage jws to practice religion in a different form

    e) intimidate jws by amplifying their paranoia about a worldwide anti-jw organization run by Satan/Satanic hydrophobites

    f) other: ______________

Rebel 8, all of the above apply. If we can stop one person from joining this cult or get one person to come out, especially our two children and our grandson, as well as others, it is well worth our time and effort. Last year at the Memorial a man who attended it for the first time noticed one of our signs, one on child molesters, and stopped to talk with us and couldn't believe what is going on in the Organization. He said he is never coming back again. See video part two, as posted earlier. This man will tell you how he feels.

Meanwhile, the 100 or so JWs who saw the signs were re-affirmed in their faith in the organization. They were told that people would hate them for their name and here it is coming true.

Quite possibly one or more of these dubs had recent doubts and were doing some personal research. Maybe they were ready to search the *gasp* Internet. They could've found an entire network of people who felt exactly as they did. Their finding info on the 'net could lead to not only that one person learning the real truth, but could lead to a whole family to find freedom from the WTS. But when they saw the apostates lined up, it scared them. They don't want to be part of that...maybe it is best to remain close to the organization. They'll just leave things in Jehovah's hand. Thus one person, or more, was thwarted from finding freedom...

I'm more inclined to let them live and let live, without protests.

Dubs just love persecution. It feeds the old persecution complex.

Plus I don't care to bring a horse to water and make it drink. You will never do it.
