Paul answers the question by first asking "who are you, a man, to question God?". (God is sovereign, man is not. The game is played God's way not ours.)
In other words, you don't know why god shows partiality any more than Paul did. Why not just say so instead of copping out with "Who are we to question god?" What is the point of imparting man with a quest for knowledge, but not the ability to answer such a question?
I don't, but to a believer the bible does.
Of course it does. Because in the absence of logic and rational thought, faith and belief are all you're left with.

Of course I don't know. But I believe!
Please understand, I'm not saying YOU have to believe in the bible or in God. You don't have to
believe in anything it you don't want to.
To say it the bible's way, you don't believe because God hasn't choosen you to believe.
So, there you go. Where ever you go, there you are.
This thread started with a bible question. I just tried to give a bible answer.
Well, excuuuuuse me! Steve Martin

well my head almost hurts bob......this little piece of clay here (me) would really like to have faith and to have a personal relationship with my creator....I have prayed to him since i was able to talk, and have asked him for faith and understanding, and to let me come to know him better for at least 30 years........yet i do not know him nor have a clue if he is listening or has any plan for us.....and so i guess that means he has not chosen me to believe...so now i am pretty pissed off at either you or him or BOTH!.........
UNLESS!.......he has something great in store for us he has NOT chosen!....since you said:
The Father does not call everyone.
Faith is a gift from God, not something that we have on our own.
then MAYBE!........god has something WAY better for those he decided NOT to call!......yeah...that's the ticket....you guys with faith are probably gonna have to be our servants or sexual playthings or something...............oompa

We don't choose God, God chooses us.
Why does he choose some and rejects the others?
This is what the covenant is all about.
If God has chosen you, usually you know it. How? Because there is CONTACT.
Those whom god has chosen...(it goes back to Jacob and the deal that was struck that he would allow experimental genetics on his lineage) have been followed and watched and abducted and probed...all these years.
Those whom god has chosen...are predestined. The scriptures tell you that. Because of the covenant deal, these special ones are the elite. They are the cream of the crop due to genetic enhancement.
They are the most brilliant minds: physicists, scientists, crafty lawyers, corporate planners; they are sly, clever, deceptive, and always winners.
Some of these special ones are the most talented musicians, artists, agile dancers, and the beautiful voices.
Some of the special ones are the upheld idols of beauty and do not decline until a very old age.
These people are all "set apart" from the likes of the mundane masses like you and me. Of course they know they are special and have superior talents. But they also know why. Many of them have been abducted or someone in their immediate lineage has been. They know.
What is "faith" supposed to bring you when you realize you are not one of the chosen ones?
WT says the "faith" is in being able to live forever in Paradise. But face it, you ain't got the right genetics. Only the smart beautiful people will be there. If you make it into that world you will still be a WT servant...also a transhuman.

Why can't God choose everyone for heavenly life, ONLY 144 000?? Out of billions, that sounds so unfair.

"What is "faith" supposed to bring you when you realize you are not one of the chosen ones?"
According to the bible, not the WTS, if you have faith you ARE part of the choosen ones.
In Romans 11 there is only one olive tree. The tree started as the physical Israel. When most of the Jews rejected Christ (as was foretold) those branches were broken off. The new branches that were grafted on were the believing Gentiles. The tree is spiritual Israel.
All who are part of the olive tree are saved. Those that are not part of that tree are not saved. There are not two classes of saved people. That's just a false teaching of the WTS.
To oompa, I don't believe you when you say you don't believe. If you didn't believe you would not be talking and asking questions about it. The bible teaches that unregenerate man (natural man) can not, does not seek after God. You do.
Don't let the false teachings of the WTS mess you up. Salvation comes through faith. Christ said that people would be saved if they have the faith of a mustard seed (the smallest known thing to the average man of the time).
If you were not among chosen, we would not be having this conversation.

Saved from what?
The scrap heap?
And the scrap heap is based on what.....genetics? .....lack of enough good works? ....drinking or nor drinking the cup of blood memorial?

"Saved from what?"
The biblical answer is, we are saved from the second death.
Salvation has nothing to do with genetics, Romans 11 explains that.
It has nothing to do with works, Romans, Galatains and Ephesains make that very clear.
Drinking of the blood of Christ is symbolic. Christ told his followers to remember Him whenever they eat bread or drink wine.
I don't know about you but I eat and drink everyday.
It was not meant to be some ritual. Christ wants us to remember Him and the sacrifice He made for us.
The more we remember Him, the more we will believe we are saved. The more faith we will have.
We do the will of God by believing. 1 John 3:23 "And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ...."
We do not do good works to be saved, we are saved and because of that we do good works. If you turn it around that other way then you are saying "we are saved by works" but we are not. Romans 4:16 "...it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace...."
