There elders I knew who were barely into their 40s who were pulling the small spectacles balanced on the end of their nose trick.

Well Jimmy, you know even cow boys need to learn to ride before they can barrell race. What can you expect from imperfect men who came out of Christendom. Atleast the're still on the horse and their tecnique has certainly improved and who else is there? There is no other representative of Jehovah or his Christ even in the race. Think of the basic truths you learnt, no other organisation comes close to having such understanding. So what's stopping you from getting back on the horse, and getting out of this mire?
Wow Space Cowboy. I never looked at it that way. I guess the past 30-odd years haven't been a complete waste. After all if Armageddon was just around the corner when I was a boy think how much closer it must be now.
I'm really ashamed I've been on this board. Do you think Jehovah can forgive me? I fear I've committed the unforgivable sin.
After all, where else shall we go? The Watchtower has sayings of everlasting life.
Who else will teach me the basic truth I learned about this generation? Only the Society has stayed on the watch tirelessly for 135 years.
I'm getting out of the mire. Show me this horse.
Do we have to barrel race though? I'm more of a bull rider myself.
"DO BRING your heart to discipline and your ear to the sayings of knowledge," states Proverbs 23:12. In this use, "discipline," or moral training, includes both self-discipline and reproof we receive from others. Such discipline calls for knowledge of what correction is needed and of how to administer it. Hence, "the sayings of knowledge" from a reliable source are essential to discipline.
The Bible book of Proverbs is an excellent source of wise sayings. The proverbs recorded in it are "for one to know wisdom and discipline, . . . to receive the discipline that gives insight, righteousness and judgment and uprightness." (Proverbs 1:1-3) We are wise to ‘bring our ear’ to them.
Thank you, Space Cowboy. I appreciate this much-needed spiritual shot in the arm. I hope you will please overlook what has been pointed out to me on another thread- that I am kind of a douche at times.
There is a ride to be had. So whats your Beef?
Or shall we say, like the classic commercial- Where's the beef? I see where you're going with this. Where else shall I go? Jehovah is The Great Barrel Rider. And I say we follow him!
Don't leave me, Space Cowboy. I've got my spurs on.
Shane! Don't go! Shane!
