Bubbly people wear me out. One hour with a bubbly person makes me feel like I just had a full-body gout attack combined with sleep deprivation and a hangover.

I prefer people like me - quiet and grumpy.

Starting Over, I now realize I need help and am opting for the natural methods of feeling shitty. Thank you so much for sharing the latest research.

i see a dilemma here rebel........how can you judge over "bubbly/friendly/cheery, or constantly smiling ear-to-ear when the situation doesn't call for it"......and when the situation does call for it? tuffie in my book......and ya...i like to laugh and make others do so as well......some folks are just a bit nervous maybe?...and react that way??..............oomps

I don't judge them oompa, they just annoy me. So does society's demand that all women behave like blathering idiots by smiling and giggling constantly. Surely you have pet peeves?

More than the orgasm over the food, is that every Italian word must be rrrrrrolled and exagerated. Ok Giada, we get it, you're Italian.

Srsly! and the constant hand guestures! Being real is so much more appealing.

Like FinallyFree..over bubbly people wear me out.

But I can fake the bubbly personality for job/acting purposes if I have to.

"As a woman I often find it's expected of me to giggle after everything I say"

My college educated niece actually laughs after everything she says, no matter how mundane. I find it very irritating. I think she is hiding a lot of insecurity.

I've been told I have an efferevescent personality. I do smile to myself, I love life and the small things make me smile. I'm not fake though - I cannot fake smile or laugh - you can see if I am. This is the overall personality as I know I'm not always bubbly, I have dark/sad days/moments.

FAKE bubbly - you can see it a mile away.

I actually do like some naturally bubbly personalities, but

I just avoid them before 10 in the morning.

I am one of those nervous gigglers. I think I have finally figured out why. I have a naturally deadpan sense of humor, and in high school my friends could never tell if I was joking. So I began to laugh a little after I said something, so they could know. Because I would never want to hurt anyone's feelings.

I imagine it is very irritating for those close to me, though they've never said anything. I have been working on it for a couple of years, but I'm afraid I'm not making very much progress. There's some nerves and insecurity thrown in there as well. I suspect that's why some of us feel we have to use smilies or hee-hee's on here so much. Some would be offended if they didn't know us well enough to know we were kidding.

I find nervous laughter to be about 5% as annoying as insincere giggling!

AWESOME video that was posted earlier. Just got a chance to watch it. Hilarious! And yes I'm laughing--appropriately!

I can take bubbly personalities in very very small doses.

It wears me out being around someone like that.
