This will be my 4th non attendance. Had the "elders" here last night with an invite...well, will you come? No I will not be coming. Why would I attend the memorial and not attend any other meeting?
They are all good when you don't go, and it shows that I don't harbor some kind of respect for their arrangement either. Brain dead.
well, i only have one under my belt....
and this year i will be writing a paper
on the liver functions that support homeostasis....
which actually is gonna be way more fun that schlepping
to a .... what does WTWizard call it ? ignore jesus timewaster?
hope to get at least as many non-attendance years as
there were attendance years!
This year I'll be busy packing my bags for ApostaNoodle!
Mom rang a few days ago and told me that the memorial was this week and said "I hope you go". I didn't want to cause trouble, so I didn't say anything. It's not like she asked me a question. I'm pretty sure she knows what the answer would have been. That doesn't really count as an invitation does it?
I have spent most of them socialising with 'worldly' folks.
I did spend one celebrating it on my own.
I made the wine.
I made the bread.
I couldn't be bothered reading the bible myself, so I found an online bible and clicked 'Read'
The wine wasn't that great, so I went and got some product from my still for 'afters'.
The bread wasn't that great, so I fried up a steak.
The online Bible was boring so I fired up "Bad Company".
After a couple of hours I was playing air guitar.
It was good, but my best were still down at the pub with my mates, talking about anything but religion.
Cheers
Chris
This year will be my first. I am going to go hear a talk on genetics sponsored by the local freethinkers (athiest) society, and then to the bar with the GF.
In 2006, I missed my first REJECT Jesus Party. That was the year I bought a Ouija board instead of going to the Kingdumb Hell--if I am going to reject Jesus, I am also (and especially) going to reject Jehovah as well.
The one I was asked to leave, about 8 years ago ...
At the time I was devastated.

Last year I missed my first one. This year I will miss my second.
Last year my wife and I along with our 4 kids were driving from florida to wisconsin and my wife stopped in at a spanish speaking hall to see the memorial. I took my 2 year old son and I went to the gas station and bought a pack of smokes and $1 lottery ticket (did not win).
The best memorial of my life.

the first one I missed would have been 1994 and that is the sweetest because I knew I would never be back and I was free
