Cremation, Yes or No?

    It is a "Conscience Matter".

Back around 1995 my cousin died in a violent freak car crash. He was driving home from work when his front tire caught a pot-hole on the edge of the highway which grabbed his tire causing his car to sling-shot across the highway. His car was t-boned by another and was literally ripped in half with him in it.

His body was so messed up that his parents (prominent JWs in the area) had him cremated.

What is sad is that at his funeral, which had a very large turn out due to the family's prominence, the elder giving the talk had to briefly address the concerns some had regarding him being cremated.

Think about it: JWs are so twisted and judgmental that at my cousin's funeral the speaker had to justify the way his body was handled.

Jw's are typically tight-fisted or broke [or both]. In our area cremation has been fairly common for Jw's. In either case, I don't recall it being frowned on, at least not in the past 15-20 years. Most funerals were of the standard variety in the 70's here, then became about 50-50 in the 80's and 90's.

Some time ago, probably 20 years or so, we went to a funeral (oops, I mean "memorial service") for a CO who died. The speaker took delight in telling the audience that the CO's son, an elder in a local congo, had taken the old man's ashes to a place that was special to him and spread his ashes there.

If you’re just going to be resurrected without genitals into someone else’s body and never have sex again, cremation is just fine. Jehoho doesn’t have as many complicated organs to recreate, so he can get by with ashes as the raw material.

There have been many, way too young members of my extended family, and my own brother and father die before their time. Each one was cremated. The thought of them rotting in the ground was too much to take.

Personally, I will not attend one more funeral or wake of any sort.....They are for the living who can't cope...not the dead.

Ashes thrown to the wind over a favorite spot (legally of course) is much preferable to the ancient hoopla of body preservation and burial.

He already made us out of dust the first time, so why the objection to doing the same again lol!

Burial space is getting so scarce here that they dig you up after 75 years and do a mass cremation/reinterment anyways so I reckon cremation is a better option for now.

I'm for it. In fact, I asked my wife to cremate me and pour the ashes into a paint can. I then instructed her to paint the bedrrom ceiling with that paint
