Not sure how you jump from general disfellowshipping to paedophilia. We know the Society is hypocritical to quickly disfellowship ordinary people while at the same time making it very hard to remove paedophiles, but I think you're twisting that sister's illustration a bit.

Yadda yadda,
I guess you didn't notice the sarcasm or maybe I expressed my point badly. (which is very possible) The point about that illustration was, not all people are kicked out for the same reasons. Some are out for expressing a difference of opinion when it comes to how things are handled. Some people where kicked out for divorcing their mates that had anal sex with another person, because technically it wasn't genital to genital intercourse, therefore it wouldn't allow for a divorce in that instance. Yes this was before the NEW LIGHT on PORNEA, when they changed their view on the matter, they didn't just reinstate those that had been kicked out for this wrong view, rather they made sure the party had the right attitude before welcoming them back. Yet, they never committed any christian violation. See, as always, things are more complicated than they appear. So I ask you, does it seem like some should be using this example in the halls, cuz its not exactly accurate.

You have hit the nail with your comment about how it is seen as being "from God" rather than from a publishing company and at the decision of 3 men, not the Holy spirit..That is the myth that they perpetrate in order to preserve their standing and power. Incidentally, the mere existence of an appeals procedure is confirmation that the decisions are only human, otherwise you could not appeal against God...Did Ananias & Sapphira get a right of appeal?
An example of their teaching is the K M 8/02 p4
" 12 Benefits of Being Loyal to Jehovah: Cooperating with the Scriptural arrangement to disfellowship and shun unrepentant wrongdoers is beneficial. It preserves the cleanness of the congregation and distinguishes us as upholders of the Bible’s high moral standards. (1 Pet. 1:14-16) It protects us from corrupting influences. (Gal. 5:7-9) It also affords the wrongdoer an opportunity to benefit fully from the discipline received, which can help him to produce “peaceable fruit, namely, righteousness.”—Heb. 12:11. 13
After hearing a talk at a circuit assembly, a brother and his fleshly sister realized that they needed to make adjustments in the way they treated their mother, who lived elsewhere and who had been disfellowshipped for six years. Immediately after the assembly, the man called his mother, and after assuring her of their love, he explained that they could no longer talk to her unless there were important family matters requiring contact. Shortly thereafter, his mother began attending meetings and was eventually reinstated. Also, her unbelieving husband began studying and in time was baptized.
14 Loyally upholding the disfellowshipping arrangement outlined in the Scriptures demonstrates our love for Jehovah and provides an answer to the one that is taunting Him. (Prov. 27:11) In turn, we can be assured of Jehovah’s blessing. King David wrote regarding Jehovah: “As for his statutes, I shall not turn aside from them. With someone loyal you will act in loyalty.”
Blondie is right about families too..The ones that I know always think that they are the exception to the rule, despite what it says above..That is of course a good thing
The current announcement only says that you are "no longer one of J W's" The congregation are left to imagine the worst . A person could be the worst of dangerous people, or an just occasional smoker or one who just disagreed and was honest enough to say so..But to the dub, that would not matter. You have been d/f'd, and so "turned your back on Jehovah" - that is all they need to know to shun you.........

One thing I noticed is that they equate people that celebrate Christmas with drugs. I would not want children being around drug use, but Christmas? Or, what about when someone disagrees with the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger, and their point can be proven right from the Bible? Is that equivalent to exposing one's children to drug use?
