The only time I liked it was when there would be a weather forecast calling for 3 feet of snow or a big ice storm that day. Of course, that never happened--nor did we ever get one cancelled for snow.

I loved Memorial season....
When I was young the mothers would get together and take us all dress shopping, we all got ruffle petticoats, hats, matching bows, gloves and new white shoes. The Easter Church goers had nothing on us! We made a big to do about the invites too, handing them out like it was a golden ticket.
I still hold tonight as special and reflect deeply.
I appreciate the events that happened so many years ago even more now then before.
It would be nice if they allowed all to partake wouldn't it. I still prefer a once a year Memorial over the every Sunday partaking.
