Do any of you have facial recognition in your computers?

Do you think this is a good thing or would you be wary?

Could this info be uploaded to a central database?

Cameo, you seem to be more than a little paranoid.

    It already is.

They know who you are and where you live.

I normally don't keep a camera connected to my computer.
Should I ever have one connected, but am not using it, I keep it turned backward toward the wall.

YES, should your system ever be hacked "they" really can sit there and watch you without you knowing.
If I ever get a notebook with a camera built in, I'll just keep a little piece of tape or a small peice of paper over the camera.

NO, it is not paranoid to be afraid of this. Hackers REALLY do get a kick out of watching people at home.... a digital peeping tom.

When it comes to bio-scans, I am distrustful.

How will it be used in the future?

Laws change from day to day.

Suppose people who speak out against WT are someday tracked and sought after because freedom to criticize religions becomes the "law de jour"?

There could be a myriad of things that change in the future: people could be profiled by age, race, gender, etc. for a variety of purposes.

I am just saying, could this bio-scan technology be used for a sinister purpose in the future?

Could technology be turned against innocent people?

Yes and it happens all the time.

Right now every post we are making on JWD and on every other website in the world is being scanned by Mr. Bush's NSA Warrantless Wiretap laws. (They promise not to abuse this power. )

Guess I better go back and read the thread on man-snacks for entertaining. Maybe make sure to have pickled livers on hand to serve.

I will wear rhinestones and blind them!

How do you know where the camera is?

Y'all don't jerk me around about this stuff just because I am computer illiterate.

What happened to my JEDI status? I want them to know who they are messing with!
