Really? How long did The Watchtower teach that "the generation of 1914 will not pass away"?
And when they did discard (they would say "adjust") it, was it from extensive Biblical study? No, it was because too much time had passed and the 1914 generation was gone! The teaching itself expired as well.
The Watchtower simply does not know what it talks about.
