BIZZY BEE- Thanks for posting that latest news article. Man oh man. Who knows ? I mean it's really a crap shoot and roll of the dice right now ! Very interesting article though. I guess when the police get the computer back from the FBI in Virginia then more will be revealed about who was logged onto the computer in the household - and exactly WHAT was being viewed on that computer. I still think the jury is out on this and we will be surprised by info coming out in the next month or so. Just a hunch.

AVASHAI- Yeah, I agree it is very strange. But I guess possible , if not amazingly improbable. I guess we just have to wait until ALL the evidence is released to the news media before any of us can have a definitive take for sure. Really strange

Finkelhor is the ultimate authority on child sexual abuse, going way back, as I recall. My point is simply that this crime, perpetrated by a female, is very rare. Which is why most of us keep trying to find an explanation that is consistent with our preconceived notions of child sexual abuse. This one blows all our notions out of the water. Bottom line: Horrible, detestable, sickening. Hard to accept.

BIZZY BEE- Very true. This case does blow out of the water any preconceived ideas we had of typical child abuse and murder - at this point in time. I think we should all keep our eyes open to the news and see what transpires in the future on this horrific murder of this dear innocent girl

I was raped at 5 years old by a 14 year old girl. I know for a fact the females do in fact rape other females. I also know she got a smack on the wrist and the police didn't believe me when I told them what happened. Not till my mother showed them the blood in my pantie's. My father found the girl after I pointed her out to him.

I was at a football game with my father and mother and my brother and little sister. My mom and little sister had gone to the other side of the field to watch the band play and my father had my brother and me. I had to use the bathroom and my father sent my brother and me together. This was in 1979. I had just turned 5 the month before. My brother didn't want to go into the girls room with me. He just turned 7 the month before. A girl standing in line said she would take me. My brother let her. She took me into the stall and raped me. I screamed and I don't remember what happened till I got back to my father. I told him what happened. He took my and my brother to find my mother. We found her. I told her what happened. She took me to the police in the stadium. They didn't believe me till my mom showed them by lifting my skirt the blood. I ws standing next to her and the cop and I saw the girl and pointed her out to my father and he went and grabbed her and dragged her to the cop. I was put into and ambulance and taken to the hospital for a rape exam.

There are just as many sick women out there as there are men.

Noni, there are no words. I am so very sorry you had that horrible experience.

    Love,
    Baba.

It was the first of many sadly. It was almost 30 years ago. I often wonder what happened to the girl. I remember going to court and sitting outside as my mother told what had happened to me. I was told she was "slow" and would get help. I don't even know if she went to jail or not. I don't think she did. I honestly don't know what she was charged with. I was to little to unerstand.

Noni, not to take away from what happened to you at all, and I am very sorry for what you experienced!

But this case is so hard to swallow. Most women who kill children, that we know about, kill their own...and that is hard to deal with on its own.

Something isn't right here, ...She looked insane in her mug shot, but on the other hand I think most women would if they had been accused of the same. I am not saying she's innocent, and I am not sure she is guilty.

I personally feel she is taking the fall for some religious person in her life and is too scared or indoctrinated to turn them in. Why has there been no history with her own daughter, why would this little girl have felt comfortable to come play with her little girl.....as if it was an every day thing?

    Something isn't adding up.

Restrangled, look up Karla Homolka. It happens. Bizzy and I are roughly on the same page. It's rare. But it happens. And, Bizzy was right for the myriad reasons many of the kids I worked w/ had issues that were'nt reported for along time. Caregivers, society, etc. But people get really, really angry when this subject is brought up. Four or five years ago I brought up the issue of female molesters on here, and people got pissed at me for even imagining such a thing.

The child abuse stats for women? Much higher than men. But, they're arond children in general far more, so it evens out to 50-50. Women can be violent, abusive and aggressive.

There is a pentecostal church on my block. The preacher who is in his 70's has been charged with the molestation of at least 30 children over a 20 year period. Just because they are involved in church or even a pastor does not make them above crimes such as these. All I can say is never leave your children alone with anyone, unless you are sure which is no guarantee. I think it is very pathetic that as parents we cannot trust our parishioners.

Bizzy, thanks for sharing that story. This case is disguting any way we look at it.

But here's what you stated in your post:

but child molesters who are women are incredibly rare

Now, if you compound the special circunstances of a case such as "a woman who murders a child + the child is under the age of x + the woman has a child of her own + the woman also rapes the child", etc. Well, all of this circunstances combined make the case rare, but this is beyond the point, right?

We were talking about how women are capable of, and really do commit, heinous crimes.

Though she obviously wasn't murdered, Noni's account just shows that point. My other point was: men are punised more often for crimes (sexual and otherwise) than women. What do you think would have happened if it was a boy rather than a girl who had done that to her? I think he would have gotten serious time in jail. Noni's perpetrator may have not gotten any time at all. She may have gotten some "counselling".

    This has to change.
