Sorry to offend you folks who feel Canadians shouldnt get involved in your affairs.

Grace, of course you are free to have an opinion about American affairs, but I would think that as a citizen of another country, to be INVOLVED in Americian affairs would be criminal espionage.

Are you now, or have you ever been, and agent of the SAS, SIS, MI6, or SOE? Have you ever been an associate of either James bond or Sean Connery? Isn't your karate chop still as vicious as Julia Child's was when she was an operative for the OSS?

We have pulled your dossier, and we will be watching you closely. E pluribus et cetera.

My objection to Mr. Obama is based on his philosophy and his lack of experience. His greatest credentials are that he HOPEs for CHANGE. Bankruptcy is a "change." Not all changes are beneficial.

Mouthy, I feel the bottom line here is that the party/ideology that recently lost power is throwing a tantrum. There is so much hatred of the other point of view, that some may resort to race as a tool.

As an American, I very pleased to see an intelligent forward thinking man in office. I do not agree with all of his actions or opinions, but so far, I agree with much of what he is proposing. Myself and approximately 62% of the country approve of the job he is doing. Only 30% disapprove. I hope we have turned a corner, and America in finally moving in the direction it was meant to once again.

The First Lady is a bonus!

Opinions are like a-holes. Everybody has one.

Mouthy, everybody has an opinion and should feel free to express it without fear of censorship. You cannot please everybody all of the time, however. It doesn't matter who is running the show at the time, somebody is going to be vehemently opposed to his/her leadership. One's opinion, of course, is usually based on what they see on TV, read in the papers, and discuss with others, and we all know that all of these things are biased toward their own world view and they present this "news" slanted toward how they want you to see it. Then they "analyze" and debate what exactly it is you are seeing.....because, you see, they don't think anybody has the brains to do it themselves.

As a simple way of stating it, we have had virtually 50+ years of freebies. We were (and still are) a nation with a big heart and in general we want all our citizens to prosper and take advantage of all that is offered. Unfortunately, this has backfired on us and now we have whole generations of people that feel entitled to get something for nothing and think those that have should be forced (by tax laws) to fork it over to them. This culture has caused a shift in the way Americans think, including our politicians. Independence and individual responsibility is slowly being corroded by people that I think basically mean well, but don't really comprehend the consequences of creating a society so dependent on its "nanny" (the government). Obama is of that culture, imo. He wants (and truly believes, I think) that the government should take care of all your needs. All we have to do is "pool" together and spread the wealth. Americans that are hard-working go-getters are expected to put more and more into the pot so there will be plenty for the losers and "bad decision-makers" to suck up.

That may sound simplistic, but the reasons and causes are not.

Your all far to knowing than I.... So I will leave you to your "internal" fights.

Yes Nate I laughed at your suggestion of being involved with brainy "inside: agents.

It's the truth. The CEO's and Wall St. thieves believe it is their right to take advantage of the rest of us. 30 years of Reaganomics and look what we've come to. Who knows if we will be able to put America back on her path. I have hope, because it appears there is a shift in the way Americans think, including our politicians. If we can keep the fools who fight for the rights of the Corporate Robber Barons at bay for a few years, this country may be greater than she's ever been.

The truth is that anyone who voted for McCain/Palin is an idiot and has nothing to say.

As regards Obama's performance thus far, I'll have to give him credit because although the turd sandwich left behind by 8 years of the worst president in American history was left for him to digest, he's diligently dealing with the mess piece, by nauseating piece.
