That is scary. Who knows where stray shots can wind up.

I've had a couple of close incidents with shootouts. Ones I would prefer not to repeat.

CJ, I just found another news article with a few more details, but I can't figure out how to hyperlink on a Mac.

It was close to my house after all - the parking lot of Morelia restaurant across from Blockbuster. Then the fun traveled to your neighborhood.

    ohiocowboy, Wow! Glad you're safe.

[Did you put on your six-shooters and spurs, just in case?]

Thank you for the replies! I just woke up from being up all night! The news still doesn't say if they caught the second gunman yet.

Hemp, at first I thought it was you having one of your WILD parties again!!! Yes, we get lots of shots around here. Most of the time it comes from the apartments that are lined along Plymouth. We don't really worry though as they seem to just be shooting up into the air to have fun. Last night was LOUD though, and we knew something big had gone down seeing the helicopter so soon with all the cops.

Donny, yes OC has some really nice looking areas. Overall we feel safe in our little Hamlet, but it has its share of problems. Still a fun place though.

Thank you also to ex-nj-jw, Purps, Sixy, Sylvia, Gerard, Lady Lee, Rebel8 for your concern and well wishes!!!!

Hopefully this will be all the excitement we get for awhile...

I know that neighborhood, I used to work at methodist hospital.

There were times that their police escorted to and from our cars.

I wish you could get out of that area!!

Hi CBDeb! The area isn't too bad (Yet)! We keep to ourselves, and in general, we are left alone. The neighborhood we are in (El Tivoli) is in a nice little pocket, but surrounded by areas that aren't the best. On our street, everyone looks out for each other. The city is in the process of tearing down a lot of the apartments where the problems are, and they are going to put in bike paths, coffee shops and other nice things. The biggest part is staying out of harms way until this can be accomplished. We have thought of moving, but most areas are getting bad nowadays, and I have done so much to the house that I would hate to get rid of it. Eventually we would like to move to the country, but for now we have to stay put. It sucks that crime seems to be taking over so many areas!
