WHY DID THEY OPT TO LOOSE SUCH A "MODEL" FAMILY? COULD'NT THEY COMPROMISE AND TRY TO CONVINCE THEM TO STAY ( INCLUDING THE "BROTHER/FATHER")?

If the father was being DFd for apostacy and then was able to convince his entire family, pioneers and MSs among them to leave with him, I'm sure that the elder body would be afraid that he would lead others into apostacy. They have to cull the herd of the troublemakers.

It's not about compromise, it's not about model families. It's about control.

DFing the entire family in one fell swoop isn't the end of the elder's troubles either. JWs being the gossipy bunch they are, people will be talking about this for some time. This elder may have already planted the seeds of doubt and discontent amongst others in the congregation. This could lead to quite a few people starting to doubt, then question, then leave. Whether they DA or just fade away, I'd be willing to bet there'll be some fallout.

I bet the local elders are sorely dissapointed the family stuck together. Now that's a good family... not like mine, which has been torn apart several times by the pharisaical rules of the organization.

Since the WTBS is the sole revealer of 'divine truth' - all Witnesses must accept what is written in their literature. They are required to keep believing even when they have strong doubts. I'm sure the other family members did not want to be forced to treat their father as a disfellowshipped person. Remember, if Witnesses are to survive the 'end' they must be to the Organization since that means loyalty to God. Isn't it fascinating to see how a Corporation could force families to reject their own flesh-and-blood so that they can keep their members active in converting others and donating all their "unrighteous riches."

By the time we are done with her Reniaa will also be handing in her letter of disassociation.

Let's hope not. She's far more effective against the watchtower just as she is.

There are others out there, ready to leave. They just need a push. Push on, WTS and local elders. Push on.
