    wha happened?

oh gosh the BO talk. WE had a number of brothers from the spanish hall and apparently BO was not a big deal. These guys rolled in and they didn't look very close to a recent shower, not to mention that most hadn't run a toothbrush over thier teeth in some time. It so disgusted me that at one point I refused to go into the warehouse.

Ex was another who thought showers were over-rated. She'd hit day three and man did it drive me crazy. She pioneered as well........

Visible plaque is one of the most disgusting things in the world to me.

There should be a law against not flossing.

The extreme lack of personal hygiene that's being described here is a glaring sign of mental health issues, though. There's a difference between being a "slob" (you know, not ironing shirts, having a messy desk or letting the dishes sit for a day) and complete neglect of personal grooming and upkeep of your surroundings.

You're describing some very sick people---and yes, I've seen that in action. Back when I was a cop, I once assisted on an ambulance call at a house that was packed so full of stuff (old newspapers, broken toys, old clothes, just CRAP) that they couldn't get the gurney inside. The older couple had been living in it like that for years. They had trails to get around; slept in their recliners because the bed was covered with stuff; couldn't cook because the oven was full of stuff--and of course, hadn't bathed or changed clothes in gawd only knows how long.

    Severe mental illness. Very sad.

Maybe they misunderstood and are preparing for the New World Odor.

Absolutely agree. I have my regular every 4 month appointment for the dentist this afternoon for cleaning and exam. I brush and floss 3 times a day and still have some build up. I would go every 3 months if I could, and when I had decent insurance I did.

When I first started going to this dentist some 20 years ago, I had the worst case of gum disease she had ever seen in someone in their early 20s. It wasn't that I was not brushing, Bad teeth is genetic in my family. My dentist got me all cleaned up...but it was after 10 cavities. I have had a couple of cavities since, and one filling from 15+ years ago broke and required a cap, but other than that...now I have healthy gums/teeth. My little brother on the other hand, age 32, just got dentures. Sad what neglect does.

As to the BO issue at the KH..... I remember one new family that was real zealous was so bad that the sisters had to go in and help them clean out their house. Some brothers had to help too...we were literally scooping dog crap out of the basement...we filled a small commercial dumpster... they were a little offended at some things we threw out...we had to, there was no cleaning, repairing, salvaging it. I hear they are not nasty filthy anymore, but they are still huge clutter bugs.

I cannot live that way. I met a gal through eHarmony, still talk to her as friends, but we know we could never live together...she is a pack rat and not much into serious housekeeping and I am. I am not a neat freak, but I prefer cleanliness.

Glad I dont have to "counsel" anyone at a KH anymore for any reason.

True. In her case I believe it was a combo of depression and acting out-common symptom among members of a high control group who haven't yet set limits with their controllers.

AFAIK she is cleaner but still kind of slovenly.

Maybe they misunderstood and are preparing for the New World Odor.

    LOL-very clever!

Wow snakes. Wait a minute, are you Jerry Seinfeld?! :D

I like hydrogen peroxide myself, instead of mouthwash. Feels kinda weird but it's the next best thing to Chlorox. LOL

I know someone who doesn't floss. It looks like her teeth are fused together. She smiles a lot too. I have to deal w/her through my job and it's hard to keep eye contact w/o wincing or giggling.

An elder member of my family was assigned by his body to council a sister on her hairy legs. I guess she shaved once or twice but then went back to her old hary self.
