Meeting Junkie No More
Wow, 20 paragraphs of tripe to answer a simple, rhetorical question that Jesus posed by way of a parable.
We have to remember that the Bible, as written, contains no chapters and verses. Those were added centuries later for 'ease of reference'. Lucky for this so-called 'faithful and discreet slave' bunch - they can take the hop, skip and jump approach in order to string together numerous snippets throughout the New Testmanet to give credence to their conclusion that it is in fact THEMSELVES that are Jesus' faithful steward'! Then they have to contort themselves in order to call it a class, and individuals, both at the same time! The more mind-boggling they make it, the more paragraphs you have to plough through to make 'sense' of it - the more they look like so-called food dispensers, but it's all only IN THEIR OWN MINDS.
As Jesus said: Woe to you, HYPOCRITES!

Thanks!
Par 19 says the great crowd should be careful not to elevate any individuals of the anointed. Aren't the Governing Body elevated above everyone? Curious.

After admitting 'newbies' in the annointed group, this articles is to keep them in check. It's like "Ok. We will accept more in the FDS class, but we are still in charge, and you are no big deal"
Clergy class, anyone?

Par 19 says the great crowd should be careful not to elevate any individuals of the anointed.
Quoting from the article:
"...members of the great crowd are careful not to elevate any individuals who claim to be part of that slave. No Christian who genuinely receives the anointing with God's spirit would want or expect such treatment."
Hmm, I wonder if GB members want or expect to travel first class when they jet off to dedicate another Bethel building or assembly hall? I wonder if they want or expect to occupy the toniest of the Bethel apartments? I wonder if they want or expect hundreds or thousands of people to wait in line just for the chance to shake hands or have photos taken with them?

Doubting Bro
While there are many things to say about this article, I'll limit my comments for Blondie's review when we get a bit closer.Tthis seems to be a review of the QFR article that dropped the 1935 closing of the annointed date. I didn't catch any "new light" but I still think this is a step before just dropping the whole annointed thing and making the GB the faithful slave. I'm shocked that haven't done that already.
Some of the liberties they take with Bible verses still amaze me. There are numerous examples but take a look at para 9:
First, they admit that Paul & Barnabas were sent out as missionaries by the Antoich congregation without any direction from the "1st century governing body". Right, because there wasn't one. If you believe the Bible account, I'm thinking Jesus striking you blind on the road in front of witnesses, speaking to you and then restoring your sight would be ample proof that he wanted your help. Yeah, the other apostles selected Matthias by a casting of lots, but it seems to me that a booming voice and blindness outranks lots. But that's just me.
Second, they refer to Gal 2:7-10 as the "1st century governing body" confirming Paul and Barnabas as apostles. Why don't they quote Gal 2:1 - Just read the first 3 words - FOURTEEN YEARS LATER. Really, if there was a central command in the first century, why did they wait 14 years before they "confirmed" Paul & Barnabas. Here they are starting congregations, baptizing people, going on missionary tours and the "GB" didn't weigh in? Could you imagine that today?? You mean to tell me that NO ONE in the Jerusalem congregation was aware that Paul & Barnabas were out and about without their permission? The only logical answer is that Paul & Barnabas didn't need their permission because Christianity was never set up to be a command and control religion. Oh, according to the account, Paul & Barnabas went to Jerusalem not due to a request from a governing body but because they received a revelation. And, according to Gal 2:2 - he approached those who "seemed to be leaders" because why? I would imagine because there wasn't a formal leadership structure.
The more I really think about what the WTS writes, the more annoyed I get. And to think I actually believed they were "God's channel" at one time? Good lord am I stupid.

Even though I don't believe in their crap anymore, the manipulation and outright deceit sickens me.
Well, the mysterious "faithful and discreet slave CLASS" has finally been revealed - it's a few old men in Brooklyn who run the show after all.
Notice that the Liveforever Book, Knowledge Book and Bible Teach book contain almost nothing on this doctine at all.
I used to wonder if the GB ever consulted the FDS for any of its doctrines or decision making now we all know that real power lies in the hands of an elite few.
The Watchtower has used the old puppet trick where they pretend to have a class that has real power, perhaps to give the impression of a global network of dedicated and knowledgeable faithful slaves when all the time they were the ones pulling the strings.

Is it just me or is paragraph 15 lifted from a previous article?
IMO the whole point of this article is to keep any "new annointed" in check right out of the chute.
