Gee, only 6 million of the 10 million were Jews. Of the 4 million others, how many of the "targeted" were JWs that actually were imprisoned and died? The implication is that it is very high.

Several thousand Jw's died. That is regrettable. But this organization is the king of understating the most significant attempt at genocide of an entire race occuring in the past several hundred years. What arrogance.

I wonder if 60% of the Jw's were wiped out in a genocide effort [that would be what? 4.2 million of them], would that rate as insignificant in their minds?

I don't know Six - could be that they have revised the number.

At one point I heard something like 8 or 10 thousand died under Hitler's regime - but knowing the Societies propensity for number cooking - who knows really.

One thing for sure - it was nowhere close to the number or percentage of Jewish victims.

According to Wikipedia the number of Jw's killed was quite low compared to what we had been lead to believe. [From a purely factual standpoint though, I have no idea if the sources that contributed to this Wiki piece are accurate either.]

Here's the quote:

The Watchtower has claimed that during the Nazi era Jehovah’s Witnesses "underwent persecution equal to that heaped upon the Jews." [24]

11,300 Jehovah's Witnesses were placed in camps, and about 1,490 died, of whom 270 were executed as conscientious objectors

Interesting fact is that not just Jw's wore the purple triangle - though I have never heard that admission from WTS literature.

I have seen all different numbers for jw's who died in the camps. The wt's keep increasing the numbers every time they write about it. I have also read conflicting reports about jw's in the camps, some say they were treated as Jews and others say they were treated better than everybody else because they tended to work well with the Germans and did whatever they wanted, just to be a good witness of jah. I also have read that none were executed but any jw deaths were due to sickness & starvation. It's like the jw's are in a contest to say they were more persecuted than anybody else. They look at numbers as usual and don't see people are the numbers.

No Mr. Doe, it isn't tacky to attack someone's spelling. Especially when they think they are knowledgeable enough to have a web page or to act superior over others.

Spelling is a basic that should be learned in grade school. Just goes to show how bad the educational system is these days. Or could it be that JW's (and others) never applied themselves in school thinking they would never have to work at a full-time job or a career!
