    Questions for Reader Zid...

Here is the real policy on doctrinal changes...

If the GB thinks it will be popular, it will be on 8 straight WT covers, and at least one new book at the DC....

If it is to admit a mistake through their "new light" crap, they will do a Questions from Readers, and hide it in the back of a WT....

Thanks, AllTimeJeff! I never paid that much attention to the dates/beliefs because I was seeing other things/aspects that convinced me to leave. I'm observing so much that's discussed here [on all the boards] as quite an outsider; I just never 'bought' fully into the JW theology and therefore the finer points of scriptural debates often sail right over my head.

Speaking of weird "Questions From the Readers", though, I'll have to start my own little thread about a totally crazy QFR I heard about in the February 2009 (Watchtower ??) Someone brought it to the Arvada meetup and then couldn't find it again to give me a copy - something about JWs no longer allowed to eat FATS - of all things!!!

Thanks for the explanation! As always, enjoy your posts! Zid

Yes we demand a new date!!!

Maybe African GB Member can shed some "new light" with a new one?!

That said, maybe Armageddon has happened invisibly? I suggest maybe it was back in 1975-any agree?

    All the best,

    Stephen

IMO they will fade 1914 out slowly and before witnesses know it, it will be new light that never existed! 1914 what? Never heard of it, oh ya I faintly remember it, wasn't the date that Russell fortold World War 1? god's organization naver set any dates for Christ's return we're patiently waiting for that event to still occur.

    That's because it's a time for 'testing'.

There is a 'sifting' going on. Plus nobody know the day or the hour, but it's soon, so close, very near and just around the corner brothers.

    Dont laugh:

Fact is: The global financial problems began 1971 with the collaps of the Bretton-Wood-monetary system (gold-standard), and finally 1974/75 with the first oil crisis. The international monetary system then degenerated to a "debt-pyramide" and a "Ponzi-scheme". There is no way out anymore.

They don't need a 'date'. Like most other Christian religions, the dubbies believe we are in the last days based on their interpretation of Jesus' prophecies at Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, and certain other passages regarding the end times that they assert are now being fulfilled. Above all, they have their 'composite sign' doctrine to fall back on. Here's an article on their website: http://watchtower.org/e/20060915/article_02.htm

There was also Watchtower article about 15 years ago that had six lines of evidence (or similar) proving that we are in the time of the end. One of those evidences was that the number of anointed are dwindling. Oops, cross that one off the last now LOL! But they still claim the other five.
